Known incestuous couples have rather had artificial insemination done rather than have children between themselves. The hypothetical couple you speak of have multiple other options to choose from rather than having a child of their own.
 
It also matters how many generations this had been happening.

Everyone has their own view of morality. You cannot simply apply your morality to every living being on earth, with those who do not share your view. Morality or more opinion than concrete, and you may argue the day away saying that things are definitely right or wrong, but someone on the other side will disagree with you. I do not share your views, and you will unable to change that.
 
“Backward pieces of crap”? You do realize most royalty has it’s share of incestual ties. Most of Great Britain’s monarchs were the product of incest, in order to keep the bloodline pure. There are also cases of incest in the bible (although I will admit, the bible is a bit fuzzy whether or not this is okay. But again, the bible was written by mortal men.) such as Lot (Who was a just and righteous man), who impregnated his daughters drunkenly.
 
I am against pedophilia. But no, not all incest is pedophilia. As I stated before, a young woman in the UK had sex with her brother. They were both of age, and it was not rape. I do not condone rape or pedophilia, but not all incest is pedophilia. It comes with the people who are the offenders.
 
Pedophilia is not love. In many cases the offenders were the victims of child rape and assault and are often mentally disturbed. This does not make their actions okay, but it is a reason why. One person, a convicted child molester who was raped by their father, said they had an overwhelming urge to have sex with children. Those who have not been assaulted in such a way have other disturbances, such as chemical imbalances in the brain. It may also have to do with the power one feels with raping another, not by the sexual pleasure it may bring them.
 
As I have said, I do not condone this. I simply pay attention.

Just to kind of turn around what you just said, what if the hypothetical children of two inbred people wanted to be together and have more children? What if they were both consenting adults and claimed to be in love? You said that should be (or expressed desire you would want it to be) “policed”, but how is that hypothetical situation different from ordinary, first-generational incest, and why should it be okay in one case but not the other? From a moral standpoint of having the right/not having the right to tell people who they should be able to be with.
 
This is why incest is a slippery slope. Unlike homosexuality, incest that occurs in nature (or human society) is a potentially harmful thing, by the risk of genetic problems with offspring occuring. In nature however if it occurs, and genetic problems result of it nature will usually run its course and be resolved on its own (by offspring being easier prey for predators, dying from certain medical complications or otherwise being compromised to the point they are unable to thrive and go on to reproduce on pass on genetic material). In human society though, this is not the case because we would not kill off compromised offspring.
 
People used to believe a lot of things “not too long ago” (and still today), like it was okay to burn heretics alive and stone people to death for adultery. That doesn’t mean those things were right, then or now.

Regarding the first paragraph: I call bullshit. Yes it varies but you can’t just throw it all out of the window because of that, some things really ARE just right or wrong, and personal views don’t change that. For example, terrorists are a-okay with what they do and think they’re right for doing it. THEY’RE WRONG! So basically the “right for some, wrong for others” argument can go in the trash where it belongs.  
To tie it back to this, yes people used to be okay with it. Those backwards pieces of crap back then were okay with rather a lot of awful things, THEY WERE WRONG!
 
For the third paragraph, that’s the problem, not all love is equal, this isn’t like gay rights or something, it’s more like pedophilia, in that there’s an actual problem with it and it’s actually wrong. Also, your line drawn at “generational” inbreeding sounds rather arbitrary, honestly if you pull that “love is love, even if it’s incest” crap, doesn’t it extend to them too? BTW, how you feel about that is how most of the civilized world feels about all incest…

When you use morality, it goes with all kinds. Some things are right to some, and wrong to others. Not too long ago, incest was common, even encouraged. Just because you believe it is wrong does not mean it is. Now today it’s somehow gross to be attracted to your step-sibling.
 
A young woman in the UK was found having sex with her brother. They were both two consenting adults, albeit they were both desperate and drunk. The woman was threatened out of her house and home, even out of her country. You see, morality of this kind is not okay. Threatening violence on someone just because they committed such an act is not permitable.
 
I allow incest because I deem love to be love, or sex to be sex. Sex does not mean love. If the two people in a relationship are related and grew up with each other, they simply know each other very well. Falling in love with that person could and would be natural. The only thing I do not wish is generational inbreeding, where the children of two inbred peoples have more children. As long as that is policed, I have no problem who you are doing what with.

Since ponies don’t really stick to the equine sense that we know of, we cannot really know their genetic structure. They seem to have more in common with humans rather than horses.
 
At any rate, inbreeding amongst humans at only the first generation is only doubled, where as the usual is only 2% for disabilities, making it 4%. And these disabilities are usually something small as webbed toes or asthma. If anything, they just have to be very careful with who they marry and have children with until the cure is created.
 
Also, I’m guessing it started out as a joke then progressed. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Defects in children made of incest can be seen as soon as the first generation. Even in the animal kingdom, cheetahs have trouble with their gene pool because they are an endangered species.
 
So yeah, ponies are doomed to be extinct in this scenario.

This can’t be a joke given the massive amount of thought put into this.
