Description

So I fond Magic Editor and I love it. Really helping to make my cards look convincingly real. That makes me happy! ;D I’m still having problems with Magic Editor(Number one problem is me having an impossible time downloading new templates.)but, hey, you can’t have everything… Right away.

So I made Celestia. What do you think? Overpowered, under-powered, needs 100 more keywords. please examine and critique.

Well, you could just say “You can’t spend black mana to cast Celestia, Sunshine Princess.” The player chooses which mana is spent on a given effect. Here’s the full formating if you’re going that route:

You can’t spend black mana to cast Celestia, Sunshine Princess.
Flying, double strike, vigilance
WWW: Celestia gains indestructible and protection from black until end of turn.
“I will protect my subjects. If I have to stand on the front line myself, so be it.”

I’m trying to top you (or anyone XP) from using black mana to pay for Celestia. How would that be worded? Should I change “played” with “cast”? Is there something I’m missing?

I wont be able reply for like 10 hours so, thanks in advance. ;)

For some reason, muh cruddy phone won’t let me reply directly, so;

Its*, not it’s in this context. It’s is an abbreviation of it is. Its is a possessive pronoun.

Exists*, not exist.

And lastly, I’m not really sure, but I do believe MTG cards usually read ‘be put into play’ instead of ‘be played’. I’m really not sure, though.

More logical than Luna, but the color anti-synergy still feels superfluous. Really, given the amount of white mana Celestia needs, I don’t see why anyone would play any other colors with this card.

As written, the ability doesn’t even stop you from using black mana to pay for Celestia. Casting restrictions are only checked as you first announce the spell. Any actions you then take to pay for it, such as activating mana abilities, can’t make the spell retroactively illegal. (See Feast of Blood) So as long as you don’t tap your Swamps until Celestia is on the stack, you’re good.

It’s only really there to add flavor. Silly, maybe, but I wanted to add it.

With that said, It’s not too hard to use celly in a multicolored deck but a White/Black deck? i don’t think so…
IrishZombie

I don’t think that third ability would ever do anything other than make sure black mana can’t be part of the 4 generic used to cast it. If the intent is to make sure it can’t be used in a deck that runs black, it seems absurdly easy to play around.
