It has nothing to do with the origins of the word. Retard has become the politically incorrect shortened term for mentally challenged/handicapped whereas it used to be accepted to refer to someone as mentally retarded/slow.

Honestly, from looking at how wacky this satire blog is, and from the other blogs/fanart this Catfood-McFly artist does, I don’t think he’s trying to “mouthpiece” or be “preachy” here. I don’t think this blog is meant to be taken that seriously.
 
There is no real agenda behind this blog, just a parody of all the SJW mentality/drama on Tumblr. Just because Rarity is being a “voice of reason,” (which she sometimes is in the actual MLP show to) doesn’t necessarily mean she’s being a “mouth piece.”

I don’t know, Rarity’s dialogue doesn’t really come off as a “author mouth piece,” or “preachy” to me personally. I think she’s supposed to just represent people who try to calmly talk sense into the typical SJWs, and not get through to them basically. No hidden agenda, or anything really.

Meh, normally I like Fury Belle but this entry is just bad. Bringing in Rarity to act as Catfood’s mouthpiece just kills the fun.
 
The point of the comic is supposed to be that Sweetie is a hypocritical jerk, and that should be enough. If it’s just going to be the author spamming his opinions with her as a strawman then it’s no different from a million other shitty soapbox comics on Tumblr.

Watch out, the devil never is real; It’s always 0% of any~~thing because it’s no~~thing and doesn’t exist. It doesn’t have a generator which is why you can call it a vampire; It’s a temporary thing which cannot sustain itself. It’s always associated with darkness and illusion where light just isn’t and light shows what’s going on and destroys vampires. Anyone who says otherwise is either ignorant or a liar, either way they aren’t right about it; The truth saves and preserves life, but lies (and all “products” of the no-generator) are ruin, the rot. And yes there are lies that attempt to fuck everything up but you can stand guard and not let them break in to you (and if there are any in you, Kick those false thoughts out now. You can’t be attentive to one thing while doing the other.)

No, I’m not sorry that I’m being preach-y. The “World” which isn’t a world and isn’t real is sickness and a bomb, it’s every wrong that ever was and is now and ever will be. That includes all mad bombers and aggressive unforgiving drivers. I don’t even care if I’m here tomorrow or not, it’s time for me to lose “my life.” And I don’t mean suicide.

Indeed, SJWs just ’cause more problems then they fix, I feel. Alot of ‘em are quite hypocritical, and full of double-standards as you point out. Plus, all this “political-correctness,” is just making things seem more offensive then they actually are, and they try to speak for other people to much, whether they’re a different gender, race, orientation, or whatever from them…
 
Like take the pseudo-feminists for example… With their fanaticism, (like the ones wanting to get rid of gender-neutral words like “his” or “her”) and backwards-sexist man-hater ways, they give REAL feminism a bad reputation, turn people off the feminist movement, and just create future misogynists with their attitudes…

Really glad to see other people in the comments know the real meaning of the word “retarded”. That it is the scientific word for low intelligence, and was created specifically because “idiot” and such were too offensive.
 
I’m autistic, and I tend to call myself retarded. Partially to immunize myself against being offended by such comments. And also because I am fully aware of my issues and am comfortable enough to make fun of myself.
 
And then I had a run in with an SJW who threatened to punch me in the face for calling myself retarded. He made me feel like utter scum, like I had just pushed a bunch of people out of their wheelchairs.
 
He also convinced me that “Retardism” was a mental condition that was really serious and that his brother has it. I looked it up. No such thing.
 
SJWs only know how to hurt the people they pretend to fight for. I love this comic for taking something so evil and twisted, and making it funny. Hopefully in time the SJWs will realise that they are a joke, and then just stop and grow up. Keep up the great comic Catfly!
