I lost everything because there wasn’t online save on this game (thank you gameloft…) when I broke my smartphone…

You do realize you can “sleep” shops without removing them? Just run a single pony through shop positions to empty them.

Aside from appearances, the one thing “decorating” does is fill spaces to block intrusions like stones, vines, bad trees, parasprites, fruitbats, and changelings. (And removing intrusions is a use for bits, so maybe some selected open space is a good thing?)

I’m also completely overrun by the red ones. All three towns.

I don’t see the point in redecorating, I’ve left every scenery item that I win in my inventory…

Yeah, once you get all the shops and ponies and clear the shadows, bits are only useful for redecorating. When I reach that point, I’ll probably max out on shards, too.

I used to sell off shards until I realised that bits are the most valueless resource in the game. I have bought everything that costs bits and have only 3 or 4 more shadowed areas to clear and I earn 100k+ per day from all my millions of shops

I keep about 200 shards of each type in “reserve” after activating their associated element. The rest get turned into bits (by tapping on the element base).
 
I don’t remove a shadow section until I’ve got the bits to not only pay for that but enough decor to block parasprites or fruit bats from arriving later. (Fill every other space in every other row - one in four with no 2x2 area open.) Changelings can sort of violate that, but if they’re left as “Twilight” until you’re ready to deal with them, they don’t cause much trouble.
 
My bottleneck is gems. They come in so sparsely yet are needed for several required actions. Oh, and I haven’t spent a thing on the game yet!

You mean I’m not the only one? Sweet, I was starting to get paranoid.

Mine looks similar, except that I have over 200 red parasprites.  
In canterlot I have 15+ red changlings and in SAA I have 20+ red bats
 
I also have 999 laughter shards, 999 kindness shards, 999 generocity shards, 999 honesty shards, 43 magic shards and 0 loyalty shards.

In my game, Canterlot is infested with changlings, all of whom look like unicorn Twilight. And I’m okay with that.

The thing is, You need the right buildings, and you need to save up for parasprite swarms so you can give them the boot and get gems :D Same for bats and changelings.

I left them invade ponyville because I don’t want to spend more money in the game ^^
 
I only use 10$ in the whole game and go very far to have vinyl and princess (giraffe) luna, my 2 primary objectives… :)

thats why you spend your bits like crazy buying decor, better to wait a little longer to buy whatever you want or ned than deal with parasprites/changelings/fruitbats

When I got to this point, I wasn’t getting enough of Dashie’s Charms or Flutter’s Charms, and said fuck it to the game, the game devs, and un-installed it. I haven’t regretted it since.
