I knew Twilight’s role as Princess of Friendship was going to require her to travel around Equestria and settle disputes, with the help of her friends, but this is on another level! From the looks of the animatic, we’re finally going to see places BEYOND Equestria itself! The big table/holographic map, which is activated by all of the Element Bearers taking their seats, is a nice touch, too!
Also, I love that the series is becoming way more continuity-based than ever! From the looks of things, we’re getting another season-long story arc, which I assume will involve the Mane Six traveling the land to solve friendship problems! Judging by the cutie mark icons that were floating across the map, we’ll probably get individual episodes based on which of the Mane Six is required to solve a friendship problem in the world!
I don’t know about you, but that sounds like a pretty damn solid premise for the next season!
I’m guessing that the arc for this season is going to start with them being told by the map (which all being an extension of the Tree of Harmony for all purposes) is going to guide them to solve “friendship problems” across Equestria (Ponyville being as central as it could be), which could include big bads coming back or the like. Giving them ways to explore more of the world (bonus points) while still having slice of life stories.
