That Ring is from the Sonic Series. You know, the rings that Sonic always collects on the way to the goal? When Sonic (or other characters) gets hit, he loses all his collected rings and if he gets hit without any rings, he dies.

I’m just imagining Sonic lying in a hospital bed, surrounded by his loved ones, and then the EKG beeps gets slower and slower until finally it turns into a line. Everyone cries…
Then a ring pops out of Sonic, directly falls back into him, and he’s like “Dying’s for losers!”
One? If you’re quick enough that one ring makes you near immortal.
Now I can get hit one more time beore I die! How romantic!
