the carburetors where just insalled till the mkII, same for the hurri, than they switched to fuel injections,the mk V is a 1942 plane same as the g2, both had fuel injection

Spitfires also used carburetors, so the engine could stall if the plane flew upside down or pitched down too hard, causing the gasoline to spill out. The Me 109 had fuel injection, so the engine could have uninterrupted fuel flow regardless of maneuvering.
 
The Spitfires were almost the equal of the Me 109s, but mostly they had home court advantage, the element of surprise and better positioning due to the (then-secret) Chain Home radar stations, and pilots who weren’t tired from already flying a long way to get over Britain.
