The statue isn’t Discord, so far as I know; it’s a statue of Discord. In this universe he’s a superhero called Captain Goodguy. (I can totally see him snarking off at some member of the media who’s like “But you have to have a superhero name! Discord sounds like a bad guy name, and every superhero has a superhero name!”, so he responds with, “Fine! Captain Goodguy, then, if you’re so insistent”… and then laughing hysterically when ponies actually call him that.
 
That being said, in this AU Celestia is apparently with Sombra, who is not evil. Discord is presumably too busy being a superhero to be romantically involved with a princess. Maybe there’s a reporter pony… :-)
