@FSin I really don’t know how they expect to keep these sorts of things going if they’re not going to explore anything the show hasn’t already done. That’s really just kind of ridiculous. I know there’s argument to be made either way, that taking away too much focus from the mane six over time would make those that quit the show maybe forget their importance, but come ooooonn, g1 and g3 gave voice and story to random ponies all the dang time. I can’t believe they aren’t even giving limelight to voiced ones like Coco!

They’ve already stated that it will not involve stories with beloved BG ponies like Vinyl, Octavia, Dr. Whooves, or Derpy. It will only be mane six/princesses/notable antagonists (Trixie, Discord) and Spike.

I’m all for a “road” story, but seriously, they should’ve picked Rarity and Pinkie Pie for it. They’re the closest the Mane Six has to Bing Crosby and Bob Hope.

Wouldn’t that challenge produce a lot of interesting stories? Also, they could use fashion to homage Rainbow’s G3 incarnation.

@Beau Skunky I think it’s because Rarity and AJ also have a lot of “similar, yet different” traits. They’re afraid to tackle couples who are way separate though. Trade Ya shows some of their similarities, as well as Crystal Empire, and Simple Ways. There’s practically nothing Rarity and rainbow dash have in common aside from liking Wonderbolts though.

Closest thing we ever had to that was the “Sonic Rainboom” episode. It would be fun/funny to see those 2 interact. Like AJ, Dashie is also quite opposite in personality from Rarity.

While I’m looking forward to this,I really hope we get Rarity/Rainbow story in the future.

I don’t know - they kinda put Pinkie Pie through a hell of a wringer this season, behaviour-wise. She’s gone from this “cute, but obsessed” persona to Season 4’s mid-tier ultra-committed spaz.
 
It’s like they were channelling Patrick Star for her. In comparison IDW’s Pinkie’s pretty much Season One/Two Pinkie except put in IDW stories.

i hope this one is full of funny stuff, FluttershyXZecora was nice but lacked in the fun department.

I’m a massive Rarijack supporter, but honestly I’d have preferred a Rarity/Cadance story because before this issue was announced they were the only major characters without an issue.

I don’t know, I can’t think of any other Rarity & Applejack focused stories/issues before this. They’ve only had a few episodes together in the show which may be what you’re talking about.
