[See you monday everyone~ Nuking the inbox for monday. I have hundreds and hundreds of asks so I think itll be good to clear them every other week.]
[I am also aware that some dont like the way Rarity is portrayed in this blog. I cant do much about that sadly as I like her being the villain and I cant dive into any other reasoning because it may spoil things coming ahead. So sorry if you dont like her like this.]

That’s better.
It’s one thing to give criticism. It’s a another thing to be an asshole.
It’s.
Is one thing to give criticism. Is a another thing to be an asshole.
Rule number one. If you can’t take criticism, don’t show your work to the public.
This
I mean, is’nt cupcakes pinkamina more of a deviation of a character than money hungry rarity anyway? I mean this stuff’s always been going on, i don’t get why people seem to get so butthurt by alternate universes.
Please don’t say retards.
But i see the retards got here first…….
I love that whenever I blow up about something I always get a pretentious person talking to me about hypocrisy. About you telling me that when I said “grow the fuck up” I had no argument. No shit. What does one say to people whining about OOC stuff? They need to get over it. This blog is for me to have fun, not for me to show off writing skills or anything else. You wanna know what ruins the fun for me? Getting messages that make me feel like shit in my inbox because someone doesn’t like the way I portray their favorite character. Throwing a hissy fit is exactly what they’re doing to me. I don’t think it’s quite fair that whenever someone’s getting shit they can’t vent because they’ll always get called a hypocrite and everything. Last time I checked telling my feelings about something wasn’t a hissy fit. But I guess when you’re on the internet, you’re always wrong aren’t you? And there will always be that one guy that takes time out of his day to tell you that you’re wrong.
And if a promise of a future justification doesn’t count then what does? Do you expect me to just ruin all the fun in the blog for me by out right spoiling it? Have some goddamned patience. But knowing some of the people I’ve seen, they won’t even like the reasoning behind it anyway. Let me put it this way. You don’t judge a book by it’s cover. Wait and let the blog grow and stop complaining about something that I haven’t even got a chance to explain because of people’s immense impatience.
Indeed, “childish” is a good description of what you’re doing here. Of course, you can portray her however you want, but if it runs heavily contrary to her canon portrayal, without any justification (a promise of future justification doesn’t exactly count) you really shouldn’t be surprised that people are going to question this. And I don’t get why you think that throwing a tantrum is a good response.
Rarity’s portrayal didn’t kill the blog for me at all. But the attitude of it’s creator was quite successful in that regard.
I love phrases like this. Always a sign that someone has no actual arguments.
You know what you should have done? Make Rarity a Well Intention Extremist, not a Sadistic Bitch. Have her view nudism as a perversion, not just something that loses her money. Have her feel Sweetie Belle’s jailtime as unfortunate but necessary to teach her the rules and laws of society and the dangers of breaking them, not the funniest joke he’s ever heard in her entire life. Have her yell at us, the watchers for encouraging her sister into this “perverted lifestyle”, not for helping her sister and not comprehending why. If you’re going with the villain route, fine, but do something to make us sympathize with her as well as disagree with her methods.
Let me give you a little tip. This is just some advice that I feel is sound. Do with it what you will.
When people read and look at fanworks, they expect characters from the show to be at least a little bit like they would be in the show. Especially a main character.
Of course no one in this blog is 100% in character. A little bit of OOC isn’t the issue here. The problem people have here is that your portrayal of Rarity is pretty much the antithesis of Rarity, and it just doesn’t make any sense.
A rule of mine is that if a story of yours involves writing a character from the source show so ridiculously out of character, that they don’t even resemble their original, think about picking a character more fitting to the role, or even creating an OC.
If you need a character to be a heartless jerk just for the sake of being a villain, don’t use someone who is one of the good guys.
I think it was more her sudden jump from understandable villain (because I’ll admit I sided with rarity in her first appearence.)to becaming less like able and a much more hateful character (going so far as to call her sister names and physically have her jailed.). Still love the blog :D
Good day.
Probably has something to do with her sister trying to undercut her livelihood.
I agree completely.
And even then its still pretty bad if that is all the justification given.
Promises promises. That is everyone’s justification for writing someone out of character.
If you want to go that route you need more justification at the start or at least implication that they weren’t always that way. Something like Sweetie saying “Man, remember when Rarity wasn’t a psychotic bitch happy to see me in jail?”
