I disagree, I think it’s more of a distant, but rapidly moving incoming train off in the distance. Recently-released canon materials like the Rainbow Rocks novelization confirm that Twilight has a crush on Flash, and considering Hasbro, this is totally within the realm of possibility.
But that’s no excuse to not remain civil about poni kissing poni.

Honestly, I never saw this as stealing, but just an innocent edit, which happens pretty often with my stuff anyhow. That, and it’s just vectors, so not really “mine”. I feel that’s part of their purpose to be reused in some way, and if OP never intended to “steal” then it’s fine. At least, this time, I don’t sense that vibe, and I don’t mind the way this was “reused” nor do I have anything against the message or theme conveyed in this edit, so to speak.
That said, people’ve done worse as far as stealing, I can assure, and I’m definitely one against art theft, as inevitable as it is. But, I won’t be requesting this be taken down on the basis of art theft or anything like that, as I don’t feel that’s a problem here.
Besides, it’s not like this is a case like >>486847 ;)…
I really want to see what else ponification does besides just being for show. Like enhanced hearing, enhanced speed, enhanced reflexes? One’d expect magic horse powers could come in handy in a dimension of flimsy stick people. ;3

I admit, I was biased against EQG when I started watching it, but once I finished it, it wasn’t nearly as terrible as the guys on /mlp/ claimed (especially Flash), so it leaves me on the pleasantly surprised part. Granted, it was cheesy and silly and by no means great, but it provided interesting universe fodder and ideas, plus it was mostly poni given new skin and poni is good. I think my reaction to that movie was what made me think “eh, it won’t be that bad” to future developments.
For this movie, I’ve got my expectations for “it’s going to be really silly and I’m probably going to groan a few times, but overall it won’t be atrociously bad.” I’m not expecting it to be The Empire Strikes Back, but I’m not holding my hand over the RUINED FOREVER lever like I was last movie.
Flash Sentry isn’t a love interest. He’s just a stallion that Twilight Sparkle finds attractive for some reason she can’t fathom.

True, but I try to avoid headcanoning as much as possible. With headcanon even Rarity and any other mare is a nicer character than shown normally. Truth is, headcanon isn’t what counts in the end, the facts are more important.
Are you like me, frightened that the next movie is going to be a disaster? I saw those previews and I’m worried…
Headcanon is all you can do for places where there literally are gaps.
I never said that those choices were the best options, just ones that Twilight in an unfamiliar environment would reasonably decide to do. I’m sensing a slight case of hindsight bias here. You say Twilight’s actions were implausible, I say they’re very plausible. You say those were ultimately stupid actions, I say you’re pretty accurate. If I came across saying like the movie was a paragon in narrative writing, let me state now that it’s far from it. Just if you’re willing to suspend your disbelief the same amount you normally do for the TV show, it’s fine.
Oh wait, now I remember what this was about. By no means was Twilight’s crush on Flash perfect, but it’s at least understandable.

The stuff with Twilight being out of the world if her nature is revealed - We don’t know it and heck, if she can tell her friends then why can’t she tell it to Principal Celestia who (if she is Celestia’s counterpart) probably is the only one who would understand without freaking out.
You have strange perception of Twilight…you know, she is a pony who was determined to venture to the past to correct her mistake in one of the show episodes… and she was determined to make friendship problem in lessons zero. Twilight isn’t ‘pure and all good’ when under pressure and attending the prom and taking unnecessary risk with the fate of Equestria in balance isn’t something that would make her ‘play by the book’ she would use every means she could. Attending the prom on Sunset’s rules is illogical action for Twilight.
I agree with her developing a crush in EQG isn’t as illogical as it is but it was rushed and lacked any explanation, thus the movie would be better without involving said crush. Of course, the movie would be even better if it was actually ‘My little Pony’ and not ‘My little human’… but that’s besides the point. It is a bad movie with plot-holes that make one facehoof not enough.
Just because there was a faster solution doesn’t mean Twilight would automatically take it, especially if it would lead to more problems like stealing or revealing she’s an alien.
Twilight probably could have found another way to be proven innocent, but Flash had those photos and did it faster. In the end, no problem.
In those cases, she wasn’t dealing with crushes. And again, I never said you’re wrong. In EQG, Twilight was focused on the mission, she just developed a crush.
Still, the very reason to attend the prom was far fetched and plot-hole ridden. Flash getting those photos? Unnecessary, Twilight was with friends who could vouch for her, the dude didn’t even need photos, he could as well vouch for her saying she was with her friends.
Yes, she could have crush and focus on the mission but remember the time Discord’s took over or during changelings attacking Canterlot? She is always solely focused on most important task to solve problem and aid crisis. For her to get additional distractions or even the whole ‘becoming prom princess’ isn’t the way she solves problems. She was determined to ruin her brother’s wedding because of her beliefs and devotion to her task.
-Shut-in: means she’s socially awkward and unlikely to had crushes before. So, she lacks experiences dealing with them. Like in the movie.
-Book-wise, not street-wise: She would have trouble adjusting to new, unfamiliar situations, like trying to write with penicls in her mouth instead of her hand. Like in the movie.
Twilight’s always been growing more social over the course of the show (3 seasons of interacting with friends tends to do that), but if you think she’s a 100% social butterfly and fountain of charisma, I think you’ve been watching the wrong movie.
Twilight could have a crush and focus on her mission, considering she did get it back and didn’t get too distracted by Flash.

She was told to get the crown back as fast as possible and she attends a prom? (because going to principal office with talking dog wouldn’t prove her right to simply claim it or its not like she can’t steal it…after all only fate of Equestria hangs in balance and her time is limited). Best is Celestia though ‘Oh I found a crown, I won’t turn it into finder’s box or police I’ll use it for my prom because lol.)
Yes, Twilight might be xenophile but as for interacting in high school - Twilight had no friends prior to Season 1 and was a shut-in. So suddenly she gets 180 degree personality shift and yay, she will become the most social human and attend the prom to become princess because its obviously very important for whatever reason!
If those examples don’t show exactly how OOC she is then I don’t know what does… her ‘crush’ is another OOC reason because she should be freaking out about stolen crown and not blush, dance etc.
The point was that you can still get emotions for things and even though you know you shouldn’t you can’t help but experience them. If you could eliminate a problem simply by recognizing it, you wouldn’t see so many people complaining on tumblr about their procrastination issues.
You keep using OOC, I don’t think you know what it means. Going to the prom was necescary for Twilight to win the crown back, and for all we know, Twilight could easily be a xenophile (common enough in a world where there are multiple sentient species). We’ve never seen Twilight interact in social school situations or deal with someone she has developed a crush on, so how do you know how she’d deal with that? There’s a difference between what you think you’d do when you experience something newand what you do as you’re experiencing something new, and Twilight seems to not have experienced anything like this before.
It does make sense she is babbling pile when flustered. It doesn’t she is even interested in guys when she has important assignment and needs to get her crown before catastrophe befalls equestria. Her attending the Prom is totally OOC, her crush during it is also OOC (especially because she is a pony who falls for human).
She doesn’t know Pony Flash, she has no relation to him, so why the hell should she be attracted to some random dude?! Twilight hates the lack of logic (Shown her frustration with Pinkie’s sense) so the very idea of her simply crushing (even knowing she is crushing) is ridiculous for her character. She should freak out about this…
