Description
I picked these up the other day at Wal-Mart, a couple dollars cheaper than Playful Ponies normally are. They were among a lot of Easter-themed toys and candies, so I guess you’re meant to stuff ‘em in fake eggs and scatter them about for an Easter egg hunt. But whatever, I’ve never seen this very reduced packaging and thought it was interesting enough to post.
Also apparently these have been around for at least a month, but hey, living under rocks and all that.

Well, I don’t read EqD either. Why would they not talk about the toyline?
The new Funko toys as well as the newer plushies have them on both sides. I thought one side was traditional, but that was just a G3 thing.
I guess their thinking with this packaging is that a bad quality packaging will make the toy looks better.
Nope. I’ve got a Kiss Curl and she has symbols on both sides. Generation 1.
There is one exception to Hasbro Syndrome, the 4de plush figures.
AFAIK ponies have always had the cutie mark on one side only. It’s only FiM (show) that has it on both sides.
On the other side. For some reason her non-display side is at the front.
The packaging is a bit cheep.
It’s not the toy itself, it’s the cheap packaging one naturally associates with fakies.
In my experience, pony packaging has at least been consistently recyclable.
Eh, if it knocks down the pony prices a bit, I’m all for it. I’d just be throwing out the packaging anyway, right?
A yearish ago Hasbro announced they were going to go barebones on packaging
to reduce costsfor the environment. I didn’t expect them to go this far, though…#ponyworldproblems
