Firefly was Lauren Faust’s favorite pony, hence why her DA name is fyre flye.
You do know that she took that name Fyre Fly from the pony of the sane name, G1 Firefly?

I personally don’t like the idea that it was a nod to fausticorn, confirmed or not, I just don’t like it is all.
Won’t stop people from making the G1 pony fanart instead of Fausticorn in the general suit.
Her name was also inspired by Firefly, so we can ignore that.
