Though she’s is clearly going about it the wrong way…thing is, OP’s partially right.
“Best Pony” Has changed as the show has gone on. Season 1, Pinkie Pie was most popular. Season 2 until a little bit around halfway through Season 3, Fluttershy. Today, it’s Twilight. It’s actually a relatively effective way to tell which season someone started watching the show.
I used to watch the episodes live, then post a “critique” in the comments of Equestria Daily, until about a month or so ago. A couple of others did the same, probably still do, because it’s fun to interact with others and see what people liked and didn’t like about what they saw…
…at first.
Thing is, as the show has kept going, A LOT of fans have left. I know a couple myself, along with one who is JUST BARELY still keeping up with anything pony-related. Most of the ones who “suffered” through Season 3, and the ones who have remained since the very, very beginning, are unfortunately the very loud, “Fluttershy is mai waifu” crowd. You can see it very clearly on just about any of the fansites, especially after new episodes air.
Personally, Fluttershy is my least favorite for the sole purpose that, well, she sucks as a character. Her personality is fine, but her actual development has been hitting the exact same note over, and over, and over ever since Season 1: She’s shy. Today, in this episode, she’ll learn to not be shy, until the next episode where she’s shy again. Every time there’s a Fluttershy episode, I hold out hope THIS will be the one where she gets proper development, only to be disappointed once again by the exact same note.
You can imagine how many people I’ve irritated with this opinion. I don’t want to say that they’re the majority now, but when you defend this kind of thing by saying that it’s a vocal minority, do remember that Bronies are only a minuscule portion of the actual fanbase of the show. We, as a whole, ARE a vocal minority, and unfortunately, there are A LOT of us who are completely unreasonable on this front. OP let herself get a little heated in this particular case, but I can entirely understand why one would find it obnoxious just how much blatant favoritism she gets over everyone else in the fandom.
