I’ve had it with tumblr feminism using “check your privilege” and similar nonsense to try and cut off the argument before it can begin.
 
Most muslims, especially in the west do not wear Hijabs, especially someone heavily into fashion. To insist on putting hijabs onto every single muslin picture (and to assume a muslim fluttershy would be afraid of touching pigs. I mean really?!) reinforces a stereotype and calls into question the motive behind these pics.
 
But its from Tumblr and thus if you criticise it your obviously racist and privileged, because nothing from Tumblr can survive opposing opinions.

Some even say that women aren’t bound to wear a hijab. Or worse, a burqa.  
But in reality muslim women do. Guess why?
 
I’ve heard of too many stories of muslim women trying to emancipate themselves. But in the end they’re usually mocked, mobbed, condemned, arrested, beaten, disfigured and even killed.  
In modern western countries too. That’s the reality.
 
They don’t need approval? Don’t make me laugh.
 
That is the point. And that’s also why I always downvote ponies with a hijab.

Don’t conform to the ideas of society. Be an individual, conform to the ideals of a different society, then mark yourself out as different by posting on tumblr with others who agree with you!

The Hijab implies a desire or even a need for social acceptance (based on the social reason for why it was originally worn). In some places you’d even be shunned/ostracized (or worse) without it. It is of course possible to wear/not wear it based on a personal choice.
 
Eating steak implies a desire or even a need for meat. Some people physiologically require it to remain healthy. It is of course possible to eat/not eat it based on a personal choice.

Wearing the Hijab and saying “I don’t need your approval” is like eating a steak while saying “I don’t need to eat meat”. This is because many people believe it to be a symbol of marginalisation/oppression.

The point is no one owes you any thing beyond not hurting you, If a girl wants to dress in a certain way or out right dislikes you behaving in a overly polite manner based on her gender that’s her choice she doesn’t need you to approve of that, this sin’t fucking murder or pedophilia, it’s wanting the right to act and be treated as one wishes well within the bounds of the law,

How is a denial of a natural human need “feminine empowerment”?
 
Humans in general require approval from others, it’s a social need. We’re not solitary animals like panthers, human interaction is an evolved trait.
 
The whole point is even more prevalent in a socially pervasive religion like Islam. The whole head-covering thing is literally about approval by the group. So this image makes little sense in context.
