First Base knew that something was wrong when miss Cheerilee took him out of the playtime and excused him for the day. There was a nurse waiting for him outside school.
 
she smiled at him, he smiled back… but he couldn’t understand why was there a nurse here to pick him up.
 
she lowered her body to match his height and with a soft voice she spoke to him carefully.
 
sweetie… are you Flash Sentry’s little brother?
 
First Base felt the fur from the back of his neck stand.
 
he was scared… but he nodded to the nurse. The pony took a moment to choose the right words and then she looked at him straight in the eye.
 
sweetie, your brother was assigned to a special mission to protect Princess Twilight on her research trip… remember that?
 
First Base panicked.
 
are they okay?!…. did they get lost?!
 
no sweetie they came back… but your brother got injured, they sent me here to get you so you can go to the Hospital to see him… do you think you can do it?
 
The whole time the nurse spoke that sentence, First Base just heard Brother and injured. He violently nodded and followed the nurse, trying not to cry or to panic.
 
 
He arrived at the Hospital in no time, half the way he couldn’t take it anymore and broke in to a gallop, the nurse following him from behind. he didn’t pay much attention to the other ponies in there, he was busy trying to find the room. when he spotted the number, he quickly went inside.  
What he saw made his breath enter his body in a loud and painful gasp.
 
in front of him laid his brother in a bed, the large stallion was covered in bandages and has scratches, bites and bruises all over his body. His left eye covered and his wings tightly bandaged to his torso.
 
Flash heard the noise and lifted his gaze to see his little brother staring at him in horror. He couldn’t show him the pain he was in, he would not weakened in front of him. even in this situation, he was STILL the big brother, and he would act like one.
 
hey little bro… don’t freak out, it’s not as bad as it looks, I’m okay, really he tried to sound energetic and happy, but his voice came out in a raspy tired tone that only got the little colt more upset.
 
Princess Twilight is going to take care of you until I can get out of here, trust me it wont be long at this point he just stopped talking, First Base couldn’t take it anymore and let his tears out as he ran into his brothers bed and curled up in a tiny ball next to his injured body.  
All that Flash could do at this point was to calm him down and let him cry.
