Money can be exchanged for goods and services.
How does that even work?!
Following the rest of what he said, I think he means going on a group adventure ‘being somewhere’ without Twilight.
As for what Celestia said, that was hardly her intention. The exact opposite actually…
Celestia hinted that before they were princesses, she and Luna were adventurers like the Mane 6. Going on an adventure with Spike must of felt pretty nostalgic. Celestia didn’t want Spike to be all formal around her while they were on their adventure… (Characters like Spike and RD are people who can easily be convinced to speak casually even to royalty)…so she told Spike a half-truth to convince him to speak to her as if she was not his princess.
Afterall, dragons as a whole don’t recognize her authority. Spike is possibly the only current dragon raised in Equestrian society. Comic Celestia doesn’t want to pressure Spike into feeling inferior to her, his race isn’t even under her rule. Heck, in theory Spike could become an emissary or even the king of the dragons if he’s powerful enough and be her equal. As a dragon, he has no obligation to follow her orders.
The things I sense from Celestia about Spike in this page is a sense of Nostalgia.
She doesn’t want Spike to see her as a princess, even though he’s lived in Equestria his whole life. She had his dragon egg.
The only possible conclusion I can think of is she knew Spike’s father before she was a princess. Was she always a princess or was she once an adventurer as well with a young dragon?
I realized that later from further reading; sorry.

Just a comment on how all Tharvos’s posts are basically word salad, I think.
WHAT?!
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
Contradicting what happens in the chapter of the twilight sparkle Princess part 1 where she tells only to twilight but not spike. Interestingly this scene seems very forced in all previous seasons spike never bow to celestia. At least not like in that episode where did desperately.
I believe that it is the efforts of writers to deny what he said Lauren and like her I think the characters because who better than her to say as they are.
Well, to be fair, she shows no sign of treating him as a son in the show.
She refers to him as ‘Twilight’s friend’ he had to bow when she came in and she did nothing to stop him, though she told Twilight to stop.
Heck, she doesn’t even get him anything on his birthday.
It’s agitating since Lauren intended for Celestia to pretty much be his mother and I really love that idea. {It’d clear up Spike’s past and make it much less convoluted.}
Yeah, seems like it, either that or an alternate universe type thing for the writer to just ignore some canon.
2) So somehow she got possession of his egg, gave it to Twilight after she hatched it, and yet doesn’t consider him one of her subjects? o_O
So yeah, the more the relationship between these two is explored the weirder it gets.
Spike: “I can riot, loot, not give a hoot and touch your sister’s…”
Celestia: “Don’t even think about it.”
