In Gensokyo’s lawless past, the Hakurei shrinemares were bred fighting stock, and youkai were punished not with spellcards but with steel-shod hooves. This mighty black mare kept the peace for a generation… at least until her frillier, more famous successor came along.

But Yuuka is not as nasty a yukari, tenshi, or even Flandre.
This was back in the olden days, before the spellcards were invented. Besides, Yuuka’s nasty as all hell, and she PROBABLY did something to deserve getting stuck in a big ol’ brawl with Reimu’s predecessor.
