no wait! i see what i was misunderstanding! in the first and last panels, the same drawing of the characters in the car is used, making it look like it’s the same characters in both panels, making me wonder why firefly, surprise, and posy are suddenly there, but that’s not the case!
in the first panel, the ponies in the car are just some background characters, while fluttershy, pinkie pie, and rainbow dash are looking at the roller coaster.
in the last panel, the ponies in the car are pinkie pie and applejack, while firefly, surprise, and posy have now approached from off-screen.
Pinkie’s presentation of the nail (apparently) taken out of the roller coaster suggested a potentially life-threatening structural failure, and consequently scared Applejack white as a sheet.
Compare it to the first panel: it’s exactly the same composition, only with different colors (because Pinkie is on the rollercoaster and Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash are, presumably, doing something else). The more things change, the more they stay the same.
I would be too, like in tight spaces, sometimes I like em, but if it becomes a little TOO difficult to get out, I start to get claustrophobic.
That’s a bit mean spirited of Pinkie, don’t you think?
Think she’s making AJ think she removed/found an important part of the ride.
And honestly, I never liked roller coasters. Yeah, I’m a scaredy cat. I’m not afraid to admit that. {But doing that with the person next to me holding a nail, no way.}
