I think it’s because that opposites attract like how bookish and nerdy Twilight is and how athletic and brash Rainbow is.
 
The reason why I prefer Rarijack over Appledash is because both Applejack and Dash are too common with one another. And as politically incorrect as it sounds, some non-Appledashers find each other too butch.
 
Rarity and Applejack on the other hoof, is a good match because they’re exact opposites one another. Yes, they fight all the time but don’t do most couples do?

Twidash… I can vaguely see the logic behind ships like appledash and flutterash. But twidash? That one eludes me.

There had been 800+ Twinkie pics once but overnight 300 of them disappeared and now they are slowly coming back.

I miss the days when pinkiedash used to be above appledash. I blame McCarthy (as much as I wish I didn’t), and the over zealous appledashers who actually believed that it was canon after what happened in castle-mania. AJ and RD aren’t even compatible! They’ll just end up killing each other. I do not want to see pinkiedash die off because of this.
