“Being an asshole while doing something productive still makes you an asshole” -me, 25 minutes ago. Ad hominem isn’t ad hominem if it’s relevant to the argument. For example, when someone says, “I bet you can’t draw Spike,” and you respond with calling them a douche, that’s ad hominem. Whereas “you’re a douche” IS my argument, and thus whether or not his buttocks is dapper today is very relevant. See the difference?

That image isn’t relevant here. The drawing was an answer to a challenge to make such a drawing. Using Spike as a mouthpiece for opnions is clearly secondary to that.
