Whatever this thing was, it was awesome when they kicked its ass.

That thing grabbed them so many times. By the way, does the creature refer to Dune’s sandworms?

Giant worm.  
Scales.  
Splitting face.  
Three tentacles inside the mouth.  
Burrows in the desert soil.
 
That thing is a freaking Graboid.
 
Which I like. Tremors was AMAZING.

Dang, this fanbase is fast!  
I have to say I love seeing new monsters/creatures in the show.

Yep. So much for Adventure Time and Gravity Falls being the only modern “kid’s” cartoons to give us terrifying creatures any more.
 
Though we’re still a ways off from ponies giving us something as mortifying as that living island from that one Gravity Falls short……

MY thoughts exactly! G1 had it’s share of creatures and villains, sure. But none that would really make me think “OH GOD KILL IT WITH FIRE AND MISSILES!” if I were to see them in real life.  
Didn’t help that this thing gave me flashbacks to Molgera from Wind Waker. That thing always freaked me the hell out as a kid.

Even by G1 standards, this was unprecedented when it comes to how hideous a creature could get in MLP. The thing is also implied to be pretty strong. If it was able to withstand two alicorn princesses bombarding it.

Reminds me a little of the Split Worm from Silent Hill 3.

This thing and those face-hugger plants from the premier are creatures, that if shown to me out of context, I’d NEVER imagine you’d find in the adorable world of MLP!
