I agree with you in more ways than one. PinkieDash is one of my favorite pairings. Plus this art is very beautiful.

This is so cute! I think that out of the mane 5 who can understand Pinkie, is Dashie. Those two are really close friends, Like Rainbow is with Fluttershy. But with Pinkie and Rainbow, it’s like they’ve known each other mor than Flutters. These two love pulling pranks together. In S3, in “Too Many Pinkie Pies” the real Pinkie decided to visit Dashie and when she mentioned she was tired, Pinkie knew she needed some rest and try not to bother her. In “Wonderbolt Academy”, Pinkie was extremely worried that Dashie was not going to go into the wonderbolts, and when Dashie did get invited, Pinkie was so happy that her friend got to join something she dreamed of since she was a filly.
 
Of course, during said episode, Pinkie already missed her closest friend desperately, causing her to panic and thinking Rainbow might forget her friends. And when they finally meet her, Pinkie is so happy to see Rainbow by hugging her and being carried in her arms. So if Pinkie tries to be close to Dashie and giving her encouragement so she can do her best, I can see Rainbow doing her best to keep Pinkie safe and happy. Not only that, I can see these two sacrificing themselves for each other. The ship itself can also work. Pinkie has been maturing since S1, and can handle most of her actions. That, and both have the same hobby, and are willing to take care of each other.
