That still isn’t all that great of a structure, and there is nothing to indicate that it takes an earth pony to make it, just that they’re the ones do so. While the earth ponies are using a crane (who knows who built that), levitation could do just as well and probably faster. Frankly, seeing them build things just makes them look like grunts.
 
As far as that play goes, it’s a story. It’s easier to say (and it sounds better) “food that could only be grown by the earth ponies” than “food that is more easily grown by earth ponies, since that is where they specialize in, but can still be grown by other races but not quite as effectively”. Plants do grow on their own, look at the everfree forest. Earth ponies may have a “green thumb” so to speak, which is why they are the ones given the task, but that doesn’t mean the other races can’t do it. Plus, powerful unicorns can grow food like nopony’s business, but they have other things to do with their magical talent since there’s already people for the job of growing.
 
I said “if anything, it makes them less versatile”, not claiming it to be definitely true. Most of those tasks revolve around strength and food, so I don’t see what you’re proving. Frankly those tasks aren’t all that versatile.
 

 
 
How about I retract anything I’ve said earlier and just sum up what I mean. As far as regular tasks are concerned, they can all do any of them. However, while the earth ponies may excel in a few of those areas, pegasi and unicorns have genuinely unique talents that the earth ponies don’t. Earth ponies have improved strength/plant growing but pegasi have additional abilities, weather control and flying. Unicorns can use magic which can do anything under the sun. Sure they can’t all use any magic but unicorns in general have far more versatility in abilities, there is no getting around that.
 
Keep in mind knowing there are differences, not denying strength/short comings, is different then genuinely thinking/treating them as inferior/superior for these differences. (same applies to real life)

You pulled a lot of that out of thin air, regardless though, I never said earth ponies couldn’t do anything. We’ve only ever seen earth ponies build structures, but those structures were wooden and rather primitive. From what we know, earth ponies are stronger and better at growing things, (key word better, doesn’t mean others can’t) neither of which indicates they have more veritile abilities. Unicorns had built Canterlot, (stone constructed towers with a built in endless water supply, hanging over the edge of a mountain side) while earth ponies were pulling wagons lookin for a place to settle. At said place they built….that’s right, wooden houses as always.
 
Earth ponies can get by no problem, can grow food and build buildings. That’s great, but when it comes to anything more advanced I have a feeling it more often the not requires unicorns. At the very least it’s easier for unicorns to build large elaborate structures.
 
As far as the crystal empire goes, I honestly don’t know because even twilight magically carving crystal made for really rough cuts where as all the buildings are perfect. Not to mention it’d be one heck of a challenge moving all that since many parts are solid construction. I’d be inclined to say it was the product of Somepony very powerful (Sombra maybe, or Celestia if it happened earlier), or it’s somehow naturally occurring, explaining why it seems like the city and crystal hearth are inter related as well as the crystal heart was held by these magically spawning extrusions from the ground and crystal tower above.

Earth Ponies built Appleloosa within a year and turned it into a prosperous community. Earth Ponies built Ponyville, Dodge Junction, and most likely Manehatten as well. In fact, Earth Ponies are probably responsible for most of the terrestrial settlements in Equestria beyond Canterlot. Most pony celebrities, designers, builders, members of the media, artists, shopkeepers, business owners, and farmers are earth ponies. They build and produce twice as much as the unicorns and pegasi without any special powers, and grow literally all of the food in Equestria on top of that.
 
Unicorns have the advantage in their specific skill set due to magic but lack the versatility and natural adeptness of earth ponies. Beyond their specializations, the only magic most unicorns use is telekinesis, which is very useful but not groundbreaking or essential (unless you’re Twilight Sparkle, but she’s a prodigy and not a good representation of unicorns as a whole). Aside from that they’re mostly just less resilient, less adaptable earth ponies who can’t grow any food.

Well, we don’t spend a lot of time in Cloudsdale or Canterlot, so the numbers for Pegasi and Unicorns are a bit skewed, but so far– aside from the boxbutt longshoreman guy who’s sometimes an Earth Pony and sometimes a Pegasus– we haven’t seen any Pegasi in charge of anything that wasn’t military or weather-related, and there’ve been all of what, two Unicorn business owners, both of them single outlet?

Honestly, though, it doesn’t seem like they hold all the cards in the commercial sector specifically, so much as they actually are the ethnic majority. Pegasi and Unicorns are simply less common, period.

That proves nothing about who build the bridge and sky scrapers. All that’s showing is that they’re building a wooden barn like in OP’s pic, showing nothing about large steel construction.
