Also I for one honestly doubt this will ever be brought up again in the show besides maybe a passing mention, like most of the little end-of-episode teasers; just a little amusing bonus from the writers. The Pony of Shadows, though, MIGHT make another appearance in future episodes or seasons.
My guess, Fluttershy becomes Pony Blade. Except instead of struggling with her humanity and slaugtering vampires, she just stocks up on OJ and cutes them into submission.
Either that or she becomes more like a partial werebat whenever she gets mad, and turns back once she calms down.
I don’t know when this will be brought up again, along with the box, the magic comic and the shadow pony. The latest we can expect is the finale.
We’ll just have to wait until next episode and see if they stick. Maybe the fangs are retractable, like in that Simpsons episode where bart becomes a vampire.
@Beatfox
Except that it’s happening for the first time in this show after 3 whole seasons. I expect we see more of these gags in future episodes. It’s very likely part of a bigger scheme… We might be pleasantly surprised.
@requiem-dirge
Either that, or the comic book was only designed to be used once after purchase. Some sort of wacky magic-based DRM system, perhaps.
Honestly, I’m not holding my breath on Flutterbat appearing again. It just feels more like one of those “not quite back to normal but relatively inconsequential” stinger endings used all the time in children’s horror fare.
@Krek
Just saying, this isn’t the only show to take a long time to get back around to a certain plot point. There are plenty of other shows that take much longer.
thats weird someone is reporting me for a duplicate when i was the one who took the VLC player screenshot… maybe it just became close enough of an image to match?
You guys just need to be more patient.
In the series 3 finale of Doctor Who, it foreshadowed The Master making a comeback at the very end. But it took the show an entire season and about 3 specials after that season for him to actually make a return appearance!
We’re not even 1/3rd of the way through this season of FiM, yet. Remember how long it took Trixie to make a return.
@requiem-dirge
That’s one thing.
But with Season 4, we’ve had multiple episodes that end on a sort of cliffhanger (“Castle Mane-ia” with the Pony of Shadows, “Power Ponies” with the disappearing comic book, and now this).
I’m not much a fan of cliffhangers unless the resolution is solved soon afterwards.
I’ll agree with you there, but they’ve done things like this in the past (like how the overarching story in Season 1 culminates with the Grand Galloping Gala, but we see things like the dresses in Fluttershy’s closet, and other odds and ends over the course of the season). I think they’ll do it right.
