Mangle helped Sharp up off the ground, So youre Sharp, huh, Im Mangle. I didnt expect you to be a flying dragon, considering Spikes an earth dragon, Mangle said.
“Really why?” Sharp asked.
“Well its just that it must suck being slowed down by these guys with them not being able to fly and all, but I think thats awesome that youve grounded yourself to stick with them since they seem like really cool guys.” Mangle complimented.
Sharp knew it was supposed to be a compliment, but didnt quite like being reminded that he couldnt fly, Yeah, they sure are, Sharp said with a forced grin and a shaking fist. It wouldnt be smart to punch out someone he just met especially since he didnt know, but with the stress levels as they were he really wanted to. “I take it you and your group are all flying dragons?” Sharp asked.
“Yep! You could join us if you wanted, but with someone like Spike around, I know you probably wouldnt want to leave these guys behind. Mangle responded.
“Yeah, thats why I wouldnt join you guys,” Sharp answered with a slight hint of sarcasm, “cause Spike and the guys are so awesome.”
He looked back to see Snort embracing Spike in a bear hug, as he was released from his bindings. Spike appreciative, but the look in his face was one that wished Snort didnt squeeze so hard. Alright Snort, Im glad to see you too, lets get Magma out.
“I dont need your help!” Magma shouted from his cell, Ive almost got it!
“Magma, you know Im going to help anyway, so just hold tight.” Spike said as he broke the disenchanted lock off of his door and opened it.
Spike walked in and didnt expect to see such a thorough job of restraining Magma. He was chained by the ankles, upside down, hanging from the ceiling, arms chained behind his back, and was still attempting to break the cuffs apart.
“These thing are gonna break any second now,” Magma said as he struggled to pull them apart, “any second,” he said with another tug. His breathing was intense.
“Wow, that doesnt look comfortable,” Snort noted from the doorway.
“Yeah, any second” Spike said as he approached Magma from behind. He gave a quick breath of fire and the cuffs came apart instantly.
“See told ya,” Magma said pointing to cuffs with a sense of accomplishment. He looked up to his ankles as he tried to reach them to pull them out of the ceiling, Uh, why are they glowing?
“Theyre enchanted, pretty much unbreakable unless I blow my green fire on them, thats what I just did to your cuffs,” Spike said pointing at them.
“Oh,” Magma said stunned. He stopped struggling and left hanging upside down. “I think Ill take you up on your offer,” he said with a deadpan expression.
Spike approached him, Hey Snort, hold on to Magma while I break the chains. Snort held Magma up while Spike did his thing. The chains broke and Snort flipped Magma right side up.
“Thanks,” Magma said reluctantly, “didnt want to drop on my head again.”
“Youre welcome,” Snort said cheerfully, placing both arms on Magmas shoulders to give him a reassuring pat, “Im here to help.” Magma gave a small smile at that gesture.
“Alright guys, second part of the plan completed, lets regroup with the other two, and discuss the next step to getting out of here,” Spike said. The other two nodded in unison and the three went out back into the cavern.
