That is utter contrived nonsense, and don’t pretend it isn’t. The intent of the song, which couldn’t have been much clearer, was establishing certain commonalities between the buffalo and the ponies. There hasn’t been anything stated in song so far that was not accurate to the show.

I thought it was known by now not everything in musical numbers and songs are 100% accurate, and as she said that as part of her song it means they mostly don’t eat meat.
