Truth's Deathless Voice
That Zecora lives in the untamed wilds of the Everfree is absolutely true. Regardless, Zecora having feelings of loneliness and under appreciation are believable, especially if one considers the majority of her interactions with other ponies.

Well to be fair she never really talks to her parents or dear brother.  
I noticed that pattern in the show and fanfiction that if there is mystical problem the characters go to Twilight. If twilight can’t fix it she writes to Celestia and might decide to go to Zecora.

It’s implied Twilight may have been petrified on her way home. Zecora would presumably have known Twilight was making a social call, and would have been wary if she never made it. Also, note how Twilight and Fluttershy are drinking tea immediately afterward.

In Twilight’s defense, the fact that Zecora lives alone in a dangerous forest (the forest itself being a deterrent as well) kind of implies that she’s solitary by nature. I know I’d be afraid that I was “bothering” her. Plus, she always seems to be busy mixing up remedies for everything.

Well she kind of lives out of the way where no pony wants to go. Her rhyming gets annoying fast and I don’t think she’s interested in what others are during their everyday lives.
