this is a false. None of the ponys don’t have boyfriends. Rainbow dash, applejack, fluttershy, pinkid foot do not have boyfriend. A match is not official. These are things of friendship. Not romantic things. And it’s a simple drawing

However,stereotypical anime/manga characteristics are not really fitting for characters designs such as the FiM ones,despite the apparent slight anime influence it has in the ponies designs.
 
Some Japanese fans are able to pull it off like,Gashi-Gashi or NITLO and that’s because they inject their own personal style rather that trying to heavily mimic something else.
 
Then again,mimicking can be considered a start in order to develop your own style,so…
