Only in the motivation area. In character, she’s as flat as most of the villains are.

True. What I’m getting at is none of the villains (bar Nightmare Moon) really had much motivation for what they did. It pretty much amounted to them just being evil, jerks, or both.
Honestly, Sunset Shimmer in way is actually more developed than most of the villains. Not that that’s not saying much.

Being a “dick” implies you are…well…a dick but you can’t do serious damage.
Chrissy is a predator. More on tier with the Hydra and Windigos than a mere jerk.

To be fair. She had about as much (canon) backstory and motivation as any other villain.

How could they not like such a concept? Sure, I like the villains based on higher fantasy lores and monsters. But, they could’ve also made a great Pony antagonist. It’s just like how one mankind’s worst enemies are themselves.

nah, is obvious the writers didn’t like her.
I dunno why. They could’ve given her a good backstory, something that is not too 2 dimensional in the comics. But instead, they made her evil in first place. One does not simply start out evil, their has to be reason.
I smell corporate meddling…
