Basically Twilight’s entire life has been buildup, but whatever.
Foreshadowing and planning for a big development in a work of fiction do absolutely NOTHING if there isn’t sufficient buildup to make the event believable.
This is Twilicorn’s problem. It is what people are referring to when they say “It was too soon” or “it was rushed” or “it came out of nowhere.” There may have been foreshadowing and planning, but buildup was nonexistent. Instead of buildup, there were catchy songs. Good songs, but they really shouldn’t have been a replacement for plot elements that would smooth MMC’s rough edges.
Unfortunately, people are being really immature about Twilicorn in general. Maybe they don’t know exactly what the issue with it was, so they’re latching onto the first argument they see even if it doesn’t accurately reflect how they feel. But that isn’t an excuse to aimlessly bitch about it.
Honestly? I’m still in the “Dislike” zone. But it’s mostly because of the manner in which Twilicorn was introduced. It felt very pretentious and stupid. But, I’ll deal with it. I’ll just pretend that MMC never happened, and in its place was a much more well-written episode that introduced Twilicorn into the series in a mature, well-paced manner with proper buildup.
With that out of the way, I shall enjoy S4, Twilicorn included. See ya’ round!
“MY WINGS… ITCH… BUT… RAINBOW TOLD ME NOT TO SCRATCH THEM ’CAUSE IT MESSES UP THE FEATHERS
UUGGHGHGHHGDRSGHSKAJFAWUR$EJAWAIS(AISTG”
Uh…okay then? I guess. :I
I still have no reason to believe you have.
Oh, if only I hadn’t. It is time spent in life that I will never get back.
Not surprised, since you clearly haven’t read a single fucking comment of mine.
I’m not even reading this. You’re too far gone to take seriously.
>Not even trying to be mean
You missed your chance.
So you make this judgement based on what I take 30 seconds out of my otherwise productive life to type on the Internet? Look at how banal my original comment was for instance. Yet it was instantly labeled as “crying” because again, people hate conflict. I mean, I could take the time to detail what actually is going on in my life beyond what you read from the total few minutes worth of time I’ve spent on this bullshit. But you should’ve known what you said was retarded because it’s the classic psychoanalyzing people on the Internet.
I’d correct your retarded strawman that I “take a cartoon this seriously” and detail my position in a way that probably won’t make you change your mind anyway, but I’m off my anxiety meds and my head literally hurts because of how much I fucking hate you now.
No, I did. I wish I hadn’t, but I did. You…really seem like a legitimate case for some counseling. Not even trying to be mean here, but if you take a cartoon this seriously, you either need help, or you need some other things going on in your life.
Clearly you didn’t read it.
Do you even read your own posts before you post them? You are literally hilarious in how seriously you are taking a cartoon aimed primarily at little girls.
I’m sorry, but that kinda attitude is for people too weak to commit to shit. And holy shit, stop using the phrase “it’s just a magical talking horse.” It’s just a conversation stopper, not an argument.
Your only actual position is against me speaking out. NO ONE can honestly defend Twilicorn in good faith without ad hoc bullshit.
I never claimed it was perfect.
It would just be nice if, seven months later, so many grown adults weren’t still acting as though life as we know it is coming to an end because of changes in a cartoon.
That’s all. :I
I actually meant the view that it has no issues or problems that might not make it 100% likable.
That’s all, Viper. That’s all.
Oh, you mean viewing it as actually part of the storyline, the way it has been shown on television, and the way Faust herself intended?
Oh man, my bad.
But, hey - good job making an ass of yourself.
I meant the way you viewed this whole Twilicorn ‘thing’.
And I would not like to continue this because it’s getting late.
Boy, what in the ever-loving fuck are you even talking about?
…no one was talking about “interpretation” of ANYTHING, dude. Just…wow. Now you’re just plain out in left field.
“reasonable about life”
Dude, I really like this cartoon. But it’s still just a cartoon.
And like I said, the fighting tooth-and-nail for your interpretation is making you look really hypocritical.
Not to mention I made the post many months ago, and haven’t addressed the topic on my tumblr since then.
Oh brother. I love how you make assumptions as to the content of something you haven’t even read. It was long because of excited speculation, you sad clown.
Not only that, but I explicitly stated the non-religious intent of posting that prayer, citing that the words contained within it, regardless of context, are generally good advice, which they are.
I don’t know what’s worse - the ones who cry over cartoon horses, or the one trying to invalidate being reasonable about life.
And that high-and-mighty act is beginning to wear on me as well.
If you made a huge post on tumblr about it, than maybe you’re the one who needs to, as you’ve put down on this very site countless times before, Get Over It.
Or at the very least, don’t quote prayers. Seriously, it makes you look like a tool.
That’s cute, except that I even made a fuckhuge tumblr post about how her becoming a princess was predestined throughout her entire life.
It never ceases to astound me how people can be so ridiculous on this site. Honestly, it’s like I’m back in middle school again, and reading this crap in crayon scribbled on the bathroom stalls…
You know, with all the energy you put into making people be quiet, I’m beginning to think you’re just as in invested in her as they are.
