superman being similar to celestia is a load of bullshit. celestia doesn’t draw power from the sun like superman and is honestly kind of a coward, i mean time she’s in a fight she gets knocked down once and then either blast the enemy with deus ex machina, or just tells the mane 6 to blast the enemy with deus ex machina.

Judging by the version of Mxy they used, they obviously were referring to Gilbert Gottfried. That version even looks like him.

None of it matters though because Celestia will never be fleshed out as a character with concrete motives. There are pinker princesses to hog the spotlight and sell toys, now. Celestia’s only sort of pink, she’s bottom rung.

One thing I don’t think I’ve seen anyone mention about “The Ticket Master”: Celestia apparently hates the Grand Galloping Gala, as evidenced by her attitude in the closing scene of “The Best Night Ever”.
 
My headcanon is that she sent Twilight a ticket for the same reason that Twilight wanted to go, to spend some time with her again, and the extra ticket was just in case Spike wanted to come along; Celestia honestly didn’t expect Twilight’s Ponyville friends to all want to attend as well, because her view of the Grand Galloping Gala, colored by having to attend it countless times, was much more jaundiced than that of a common pony who previously couldn’t have dreamed of being able to go.

It’s kind of her job to, though. She’s never gone out of her way to hurt anyone out of sheer spite, she’s just tested the mane 6 whenever she can to keep their skills sharp.
 
I’m willing to bet the dragon in Dragonshy was actually a friend of hers. He was probably just there as a favor to break Fluttershy out of her shell. And the ticket thing, a lot of people seem to think that was all trolling. You know what? She was testing Twilight’s loyalty to her friends, and it all panned out in the end.
 
She knows what she’s doing.

Objection: nowhere is it stated that Celestia’s powers come from the sun.
 
(Also she’s never reached superdickery levels, but I know I’ll never change anyone’s mind about that.)
