Twilight Sparkle had been working on developing a summoning spell, while Twilight had been working on a spell to see into the future while she was spending time with her friends. The pair happened to be working in the same spot in different time periods, leading to a cross in the magic streams, pulling the G1 crew into Equestria, causing them to be shocked by the Mane Six looking so much like them.

Rub my belly!

Y’know, while the old-school colors were kinda cute, I’m kinda glad they changed ‘em to the ones we have now. Nothing against FireFly, but I don’t think we need 2 main characters being the same colors, and “Rainbow Dash” also sounds more like a name for a tomboy character to. (So it was kinda funny to learn she was more like Rarity in G3. Always dressing in style. :P)
