Nah, the breezies are basically the G4 flutterponies.

Flutter ponies don’t have antennae, you might be thinking of Breezies. The thing on Rosedust’s head is a feather, kind of the flutter equivalent of a crown.
I love the flutter ponies because they’re so horrible to other people and generally terrifying. They sing a whole song about how they’re an army of kick-ass at one point.
As long as someone doesn’t claim that it makes sense, it doesn’t bother me. Why that theory makes more sense to anyone than the changelings simply being a completely new race is beyond me.
The changelings eating the flutter ponies makes more sense to me, if you want to put in a connection.
Heck, the changelings actually lack antennae, meaning that the “more insect-like” idea would require them to lose an insect trait.

Well, most people go with ‘Changelings are corrupted Flutterponies’ thing.
I wanted to try something different and put a spin on it. (I even created a Flutterpony like changeling caste…I could send you a link to it.)
But yeah, that’s the reason. Flutterponies and changelings both have insectoid features…it’s just that changelings are pretty much hybrids, while flutterponies have a fluffy antennae and insect wings.

I’m always weirded out when people try to connect the flutter ponies and the changelings. The only thing that they’ve got in common is insect-like wings.

(Odd fact: I headcanoned Rosedust {as the first flutterpony} as Chrysalis’s daughter and the sister of Sedusa, the queen of the Succubi….I’m a strange person. :D )
