So, i think i jacked up the exact wording but yes. This card is supposed to be terrifying. Comments are appreciated.
Actually thats not entirely true. The best explanation is from the iceage book series when they explain the drawing of mana as a series of doors in a house, Each opening to realms of possibility. In magic the game lore though the land can become corrupted and unusable. Or otherwise changed in such a way that it is given imbued powers such as the mirror pool.
For how many years did you stop playing Magic?
Because lands that do shit without producing any mana date back at least as far as The Dark with Maze-of-Ith.
yes, but thematically lands are meant to represent a player drawing on the power of their surroundings to produce resources of some variety. ie; something with an action involved, such as tapping or paying mana in order to gain.
something that just passively sits on the battlefield with a constant effect feels more like an artifact. (or an enchantment, but im pretty sure colorless enchantments dont exist).
also it feels way too powerful for a zero cost card, even if you do end up chucking cards.
not all lands produce mana and as it’s not really an artifact it made more sense as a legendary land.
Roll a die, generally.
Ah, well imagine it with a warp world or knowledge pool or any of the wacky things. of course it’s entirely possible to do insane things like oh whoops there goes the top half of my deck =/
I was referring to the “If this goes into your graveyard, shuffle your graveyard into your library” ability of the legendary Eldrazi. Hence my second comment. Exiling takes care of that problem quite nicely.
Still, this card is kind of bonkers, even with the randomness. Bonkers in a good way, though.
It’s at random and legendaries would just explode. But notice it doesn’t say you need to control that creature your making a token of :D
This is absolutely mind-blowing. Especially if you have a legendary Eldrazi in your deck to nullify the drawback. Or if you’re running a dredge deck.
