I don’t mind some fanon sneaking into the show– for background ponies, not for someone with a reasonably important role, like Luna.
Plus, I actually liked the early-20th-century feel of the show, though that seems to be going by the wayside, what with video games, night-vision goggles, etc…

I have never liked Gamer Luna.
It really just comes off to me as “I love Luna, I love video games! LOL! Let’s put them together!”
Just because she’s a socially awkward nerd doesn’t mean we have to check off every single stereotype of that. Let’s keep her as an adorkable temporal fish-out-of-water.
