Sure there is. Remember in the beginning Pinkie brings up that there is another Twilight that just lives in the city

Some of that stuff is just for one-off sight gags, so I wouldn’t take all of it seriously.
Personally, given how shellac is made, I think that it makes more sense as a material.
If you’re going to bring up the videgame, we didn’t see the screen, but it probably wasn’t being played on a cathode ray tube. Arcade games of various sorts have been around for a while, so it was probably something other than a proper video game.

They try to be a medieval fantasy setting most of the time, but at the same time we have modern hospitals, hydroelectric dams, DJ tables, and video games.
