Well, you are using a hair-by-hair render tool typically used to create realistic hair. If you want to be closer to the original art, it’s not really the right tool for the job; you could probably just encase the model in a massive chunk where the fluffy parts should be and then put fluff on that. There’s just too much fluffy for one tool to handle. Too. Much. Fluffy.
You’re seriously speaking of realism on a Fluffle Puff render. I’ll see what I can do.
The length of the previous one was fine, it just needs to have a realistic, natural consistency. As it is it’s too straight and patchy and doesn’t look like real fur. Try something like this:
