It would be interesting to see the ponies wear clothes (even though it wouldn’t make any sense looking at how Sunset and Twilight gains/loses the clothes when traveling). I love how pony Fluttershy looks with the skirt.

There has been. At least once based specifically on this image even before Friendship Games, and many, MANY variations on the idea before and since.
 
Really I wish they’d do something like this in at least the EQG series, if not the main show, just to see how the rest of the mane 6 besides Twilight (and maybe the Pinkies) would react to each other.
