Not to forget Friendship games, Legend of Everfree, the X Magic series, Specials and shorts.
@CaptainGrumpy
It’s fucking beautiful mates
dont necro posts
also, the first movie is still shit.
I know this is really old, but I should point out she never said all she wanted was friends, she said that she never considered that friendship was the right path to take, and she realized that she was wrong. Then she went onto to say that she had no idea how to make friends, since all she ever did was push people apart to manipulate them.
im pretty sure luna was being conroled by the “nighmare” not sure were i saw it, i think it was the comics.
and as i said; the theory that the elements of harmony make you “insta good” person is lame as fuck.
at least to me, i prefer my magical mcguffins whit some restrictions to them.
That’s exactly what happened to Luna and Summer. They were full of negative feelings, then EoH turned both of them into emotional wrecks.
did she? all we know is that she wanted the amulet to become more powerfull.
we dont know to what extent the amulet twisted her.
and aye to the bad writting, but then again, i cant think of any better outcome for that mess.
@martianmister
“It destroyed her negative feelings”
has that been stated in any oficial canon? because it sounds pure fanon to me.
Luna was Celestia’s sister and was magically moving the moon. She gets jealous and turned into Nightnare Moon, created eternal night, so Celestia exiled her to the moon.
Summer was one of Celestia’s old students. She wasn’t really good in her studies as she hoped, so she turned cruel and dishonest, and abandoned her studies. She abandoned Equestria, and self-exiled herself to an alternate universe.
They doesn’t look much different.
Actually if we count only the movie compared to the first 2 episodes of FiM- then yeah she does have less backstory then Luna.
It’s purification is probably temporary, like what happened to Luna. It destroyed her negative feelings, but they come back in Halloween episode.
@Lathius
She doesn’t have less backstory than Luna.
I don’t really care about comics.
Trixie still acquired the amulet with the intent of doing what she did.
@martianmister
That’s some pretty terrible writing right there, especially when she says ‘B-but all I wanted was frieeendddsss’ when we have no back story on her. (And then the comic book to flesh out her back story goes ’Nah she was always a bitch who rejected and insulted the concept of friendship.)
that too, ‘redemption’ and ‘purification’ arent exclusive to each other :V
also, the theory that the elements of harmony make you “insta good” person is LAME as FUCK
even if its a very acurate one considering the intended audience, i thank the staff for leaving that up in the air.
@Lathius
It’s not redemption. EoH purified her soul (like Luna) but she still need to do learn about friendship.
for the sake of clarity, im talking about her first cry and even if it was meant to be realistic, it clashses whit the comon style of the show. “cartoony” weirdly does work for true sad moments, if ever.
@Lathius
at least trixie had the excuse of “evil mcgufin of corruptness”
(i just had the idead that the alicorn amulet is an attemp to repilcate the elemenst of harmony…)
@KirbyfanNeox
if they turned out to be so, daam. that would be cool.
They’re just crocodile tears, anyway.
oh forget it just buy me ice cream with oats.
Didn’t think it was overdone. Most of the time when people bawl, it’s REALLY gross. So this is realistic, if anything.
that suden redemption was… lousy as fuck. i suspect it HAD TO BE DONE, after all she went full demon…
the crying face was overdone to almost guilttrip levels, not sure if thats good or bad…
