This was one of the questions. Yep.. That’s what The Hub thinks.

Compared to the average unicorns we’ve seen on the show, she is great. She’s cast more varied spells than any other unicorn on the show after Twilight, and she kept all of Ponyville enthralled and cheering for more during her show, and Ponyville has many unicorns, many of which we know go or went to Celestia’s gifted unicorn school.
She’s not as good as Twilight, but Twilight is an established freak of nature.
But Trixie was meant to be not so great and powerful…just an average unicorn. Why stubborn fanboys want to imagine her great, when she’s clearly not? I like her how she really is.
I’m not sure if that’s an anti-reverse psychology attempt or what, but if you continue to blatantly bait, the mods are cracking down on the troll problem. Anyway, teleportation is an abusable spell by any unicorn who is confirmed to use it and one of the most prevalent unicorn skills throughout the generations. It doesn’t seem uber level and a pony good with tricks would try to master it in order to make the best out of their sleight of hoof.
Isn’t teleportation advanced stuff? Also, you’re not very good at claiming the last word.
Blinking and levitational powers could compress a piece of cloud into a raincloud and teleport it to the designation. Both of these skills are basic.
How do you explain her casually making that tiny raincloud out of thin air, if all she’s good at is illusions?
>Uber-powerful and practical
Don’t you mean borderline omnipotence?
That’s pretty much what I assume. She’s amazing at flashy show magic, but that’s her greatest talent. She has the hat and wand cutie mark because she became her stage character, The Great and Powerful Trixie, when she put on her hat for the first time.
My theory is Crippling Overspecialization
Illusion and theatric magic was the only magic that interested her so it was the only thing she studied.
So she could put on a one pony firework show that’d dazzle an entire audience… but she’d probably have to study the better part of a week to get a cloudwalk spell without a hitch.
Illusion magic.
Hocus pocus.
Sleight of hoof.
That kind of magic. As opposed to Uber-powerful and practical magic like Twi’s.
If she was as bad at magic as this question implies, why would she have a magic-related cutie mark? Riddle me that.
…Also I may now headcanon she has sisters. Also named Trixie. Trixie the Terrific and Trixie the One and Only (oldest, most arrogant)
