Pinkie is Pinkamena’s nickname. Inkie and Blinkie would be the Sister’s nicknames. I’m not saying it’s a canon nickname like Pinkie, but it is something we can think of it, rather than simply say we ‘ignore’ it.

You’re probably not gonna see them again in a meaningful way on the show, so who cares?

I understand Hasbro’s reasoning. It’s why they name many of the ponies the way they do. I’m just trying to stem off random rage a bit by giving a way fanon and canon can agree on something. :)

Not really, “Pinkie” is used in canon so no one has a problem with it.  
It would be better to compare this to Bon-bon, he name is Sweetie Drops by the Hasbo toys but we still call her Bon-bon.

Seriously, though, they probably just renamed them because they were afraid of a copyright thing or something. Honestly, I’d probably care a bit more if these two had had more impact on the show than a two-second appearance in one episode.
