Except it doesn’t say “creatures” in the old testament. It says living “nephesh”. The very same word translated to soul when Adam was created. Adam BECAME a living NEPHESH.
The KJV bible is very selective in what context is translates “nephesh” as soul. Other words translated from “nephesh”: “any, appetite, beast, body, breath, creature, lust, man, me, mind, mortally, one, own, person, pleasure, them, they, thing.”.
@Sixth
I think that what you are referring to would mean taking the Bible too literally. Genesis 1:26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
Here’s a funny fact. In the old testament soul simply means living being. Humans, animals and other living breathing creatures ARE LIVING SOULS. (Now I wonder why no one ever quotes this from the bible)
The idea of the soul as a separate part of the individual is something adopted into Christianity from Greek philosophers.
@Ilsor
Yeah, the whole Nightmare on the moon thing. Was she even conscious during that whole ‘1000’ years?
I personally don’t believe so, since she’d probably go insane or have some ‘tick’ that would pop up, but I could be proven wrong.
@JJMDude
Nightmare Moon was somehow trapped in the moon, and since there’s no way she was physically inside it (unless Lauren says so), it’s safe to assume she was reduced to her spirit state, or soul state, whatever.
