There’s just something about the R63 versions of the Mane 6 that are fascinating. Most of it is taking the fabulous characterization from Faust for the female Mane 6 and spinning it in a masculine style still gives great novel non-cliche characters but with a certain charm to them.
Take Butterscotch, for instance. Sure, there’s the same insecurity as Fluttershy, but it’s a masculine one and one that I suspect most bronies can relate to (trying to find that right group to fit in, typically much more difficult do as men than women). And the pose and expressions that artists like Shepherd and others give them is near perfect to reflect that.
