My whole life has been as an artist, or surrounded by artists, or working for artists, and one thing is always true. Art Crawl fixes all. No one has any money, until Art Crawl. Then everyone has pockets full of wadded up $20 bills, which they use to pay for the work you did for them last Art Crawl, so you’ll do more work for them this Art Crawl. Bob’s Burgers did a good job with that concept. I think they really captured it.

Though I do note that many French wines I’ve seen do still bill themselves as specific varieties, like cabernet or pinot noir, but I don’t know if those are purely that or are also partly blends.

I look forward to reading Ruby’s (wine) opinions on (wine) music varietals (wine).

Also, I love love love that Ruby’s worried about whether Adagio is just into Peach for the happy bouncy times, and is just going to mooch off of him to support her music. Or if this is something she’s willing to work to turn into a ‘real life’.

The very concept that being a musician is no way to build a life - by itself - is a whole discussion, but that Ruby (wine) is worried about that FIRST, instead of just getting to know Adagio as a person first, is telling.

That did get me wondering, do vineyards normally have just one variety? Are there advantages to having more than one (like spreading out the harvest because they ripen at different times, or some varieties doing better with lots of sun on a south facing slope, and others with less sun on north facing slopes)? For some reason I’m under the impression that most French wines are blends of different grape varieties, and the single grape style is a California thing.

Of course not! That’s why the ponies named Granny Smith and Macintosh are only allowed to grow one type of apple each and Rainbow can’t be responsible for any other kind of weather.
