I made two steaks for dinner the other day, turned one into dinner tonight.

It’s physically impossible for me to cook for one person, apparently, so I try to make things that I can incorporate into another meal later.

@submissively speaking , I can't cook for one, either! Heck, I can barely cook for one family! I learned from my mom who cooked for a family of seven, so everything I make is in mass quantities. lol

 

It's ridiculous, really, but I can't help it.

What’s in the cheesy chicken casserole?

 

It's mostly cubed chicken and mushroom soup with wild rice mixed in and melted cheese on top.

Dee did salisbury one night, and after confirming it was NOT a Hungry Man's TV dinner, I did salisbury a couple of times using some beat to death cube steaks. Might just happen more often, as there were NO rib-eyes at the store.

 

I love Salisbury steak, but haven't made it in a few years as my daughter, who is NOT picky, doesn't like it. (My son is super picky, so I don't cook to his liking. If my daughter doesn't like it I usually don't make it.) But I had to make it after seeing it here. It was so good!

@Aqua Marine - that's a stress reaction in me, not from any particular substance. It's the weirdest feeling and I hate it.

 

Cinnamon gum does it, too, so I'm pretty sure it's the flavor (oil?) Interesting that it's a stress reaction, Subby.

 

Egg noodles aren't difficult to make...flour,egg baking powder, salt and milk of choice

I grew up Catholic but we never had salmon patties. We had tuna patties. Always with velveeta shells and cheese.

Hello, so Southern cabbage has many personal variations but mine is mostly like this: 1/2 stick of butter to brown a sweet onion in then add a stick of chopped celery, 1/2 chopped small head of cabbage, salt, pepper, chicken bouillon to boil in and I ALWAYS add hot sauce. Any additional spices to taste or as desired. Boil till it's done.

I can only do canned green beans. Frozen or fresh taste like grass clippings.

I do whole canned fried with butter and garlic... on the rare occasion I actually eat some vegetables.

But I appreciate your attempt to be healthier. I need to do that much more often.

 

They definitely need to be seasoned is they're fresh or frozen.

 

I love green beans - canned, raw, frozen, fresh. They're all so different, but they all taste good to me.
