Description
Story - A Tale of Two Beauty Mark Ponies
Summary: Cherry Jubilee finds herself paired up with Aunt Orange, the aunt of Applejack, after bumping into her on the sidewalks of Newport, Jersey City, New Jersey. They both learn that they have beauty marks.
On the sidewalks of Newport, New Jersey, Cherry Jubilee, who comes from Dodge Junction, is finding walking alone silently. She is taking a look around seeing some apartment buildings around her, some beautiful boats in the water, and more. She finds it interesting to be visiting New Jersey for the first time in her life.
“I must say, this place is something like I never seen before. It is astonishing that I’d experience what this neighborhood is about.” Cherry Jubilee comments about how wonderful the neighborhood of Newport, New Jersey.
Some citizens residing within this neighborhood are also walking through the sidewalks.
Cherry Jubilee avoids bumping into the humans as she keeps on heading straightforward, continuing her journey across the area.
“Whoever thought this place is actually a good neighborhood to visit?” Cherry Jubilee giggles.
As Cherry Jubilee kept on walking, she then bumped into another pony, who is known to have a beauty mark like her. Both ponies fell on the ground and got dizzy for a split second until they both stood up again and look at each other in the face.
“I’m so sorry. I didn’t even knew where you were on the sidewalk and I just didn’t pay attention to where I was going.” Cherry Jubilee apologizes to the pony she bumped into.
“Not even myself knew you for a minute there.” Aunt Orange said, apologizing back to the other pony as well, feeling herself a bit guilty for bumping into another pony. “I was actually gonna go on a boat ride with Applejack, but I noticed that she’s not here, so I’ll have to make some change of plans.”
“Let me get this straight… Are you telling me that you know Applejack?” Cherry Jubilee questions Aunt Orange about Applejack, unaware of the relationship between the two.
Aunt Orange laughs a little and responds, saying, “I have, and I’m also her aunt. In case I haven’t introduced myself yet, the name’s Aunt Orange and I’m pretty popular among the high society in Manehattan. That’s where me and my husband live.”
“Hmm, I see what you’re telling me. Applejack is your niece and your husband is Uncle Orange, yes?” Cherry Jubilee asks Aunt Orange wondering if this is true.
“Indeed correct.” Aunt Orange nods her head in an agreement to Cherry Jubilee’s question.
Anyways, Cherry Jubilee finally introduces herself as she places her front right hoof on her chest, “I’m the boss from Dodge Junction, Cherry Jubilee. Why, the place is very quite nice and you come up and go visit the town. It’s nice!”
“The town you just mentioned is one I never heard of.” Aunt Orange was not familiar with Dodge Junction like her niece, which she visited once a long time ago.
“But once you visit the southern Dodge Junction in Equestria, you’ll be finding yourself taking a wild ride in the small town!” Cherry Jubilee reminds Aunt Orange that Dodge Junction is really worth seeing and that she should bring her husband with her for at least just one time.
“Okay, I guess I might see you sometime again at Dodge Junction in the future.” Aunt Orange promised that she will see Cherry Jubilee once more the next time they meet.
Aunt Orange and Cherry Jubilee shake hooves with each other, becoming friends and the two decide to hang out for a while in Jersey City’s neighborhood, Newport. They both feel so happy that they are interacting with each other for the first time.
The two ponies continue walking throughout the neighborhood until they see a restaurant called Fire & Oak.
“Hmm, this restaurant doesn’t seem bad at all.” Aunt Orange tells Cherry Jubilee, as she finds the place not so bad after all, figuring that she might eat something she’ll like. “I haven’t had eaten food with any friends since my niece first visited my dinner party back in Manehattan. Brings back memories!”
“Getting hungry myself, too.” Cherry Jubilee said, also interested in eating right now during this afternoon. “I’m definitely in the mood for some espresso!”
“Me too!” Aunt Orange agrees with her friend as they start walking into Fire & Oak.
Inside the Fire & Oak restaurant, several people are seen eating different foods like sandwiches, steaks, waffles, etc. Others are drinking mostly espressos or cappuccinos with their meals. It was all nice and silent until they heard Aunt Orange and Cherry Jubilee entering the building.
People are wondering and shocked to see that there’s ponies inside the restaurant. The waitress approaches the ponies and is surprised herself that they would be coming inside Fire & Oak.
“Welcome, welcome! We’ve never seen you before!” The waitress greets the ponies and shake her hands with Cherry Jubilee and Aunt Orange, excited meeting guests visiting the place as always. “Can you two ask me what your names are before we go?”
“I’m Aunt Orange, and this pony on the right side is my newest friend, Cherry Jubilee!” Aunt Orange introduces herself to the waitress, alongside her friend.
“Alright then, this way!” The waitress allows both Cherry Jubilee and Aunt Orange to follow behind her as she would let them sit in a table together just by themselves and they can spend their time together.
At a table alone, Aunt Orange and Cherry Jubilee look at the menu, and when they search for the espresso on the back of the page, this has them all excited for that drink.
“You know what we are getting?” Aunt Orange asks Cherry Jubilee.
“Espresso is clearly what we both want, but I also want Belgian waffles because they taste so delicious I’m telling you!” Cherry Jubilee replies with her eyes wide open a huge grin on her face.
Feeling admired that she and her friend will be sharing the same drink and meal, Aunt Orange was always imagining herself having waffles.
15 minutes later, Cherry Jubilee and Aunt Orange have gotten what they wanted: espresso and Belgian waffles they are eating together, much to their satisfaction.
“Mmm, it smells so fresh and warm…” Cherry Jubilee smells the Belgian waffles looking very warm and so sweet. She took a bite out of it with her mouth, and her mouth was filled with whipped cream, causing Aunt Orange to laugh.
“Oh, wow. You got yourself looking all messed up there.” Aunt Orange told Cherry Jubilee.
Aunt Orange grabs a napkin and wipes the whipped cream off of Cherry Jubilee, making sure she looks more cleaner and not being more messy like she’s done just moments ago.
Cherry Jubilee drank her espresso and she said to Aunt Orange while she was eating her waffles, “Tell me… How much do you love this food? Because I really, really, really like it. It’s the first time I’ve ever tried something like this.”
“They taste incredibly delicious. I’ve tried them for the first shot in my life and they make my day more better.” Aunt Orange replied before taking another bite out of her waffles.
“I just love how this place gives you such food that ponies have never tried before.” Cherry Jubilee laughs, seeing that although some locations have many foods that are the same as in the real world, she finds that multiple foods are unique for ponies that humans can’t eat.
“Having lunch has been the best day for me!” Aunt Orange told Cherry Jubilee, enjoying the time she is having at Fire & Oak. Her friend eventually agreed with this.
As Cherry Jubilee looks at Aunt Orange directly in the face while the latter is drinking her espresso, she notices something on the cheek that’s like circle-shaped.
“Um, darling…? You have something on your cheek.” Cherry Jubilee told Aunt Orange, pointing at her right cheek.
“Oh, that’s my beauty mark. I’ve had it on my face since a grown mare. It never goes away. Ever.” Aunt Orange replies, letting Cherry Jubilee know that her beauty mark is pretty much part of her personality.
“I have a beauty mark myself on my face as well.” Cherry Jubilee finds that she and Aunt Orange have something in common: a beauty mark.
Thirteen minutes later, after having lunch at Fire & Oak, Aunt Orange and Cherry Jubilee return and they know that they have to say goodbye to each other after having so much fun for a while.
“I guess I can say thanks for hanging out with me. I appreciate you for being a new friend of mine. That makes me feel so happy.” Cherry Jubilee hugs Aunt Orange for learning something seeing each other for the first time. “If Applejack was here, she’d be so proud of this and I would’ve told her about me becoming friends with you!” She giggles again.
“No problem. It was an honor.” Aunt Orange said, as she thanks Cherry Jubilee for the same manner as how she thanks her.
With very little time left, Cherry Jubilee asked Aunt Orange about her next plan was, “Where do you plan on going next? Because I gotta do something on my own.”
“Oh, I plan seeing my husband. He’s somewhere living in the south.” Aunt Orange answered.
“The south?” Cherry Jubilee questioned Aunt Orange about what she just brought up. “I’m very surprised some ponies love being in the south Just where is he exactly?”
“He’s in Memphis, I think. That’s when I last checked.” Aunt Orange responded again.
Cherry Jubilee understood what Aunt Orange was planning as she knew that she had to let her move on her own while she had to her own thing.
“For now, we better get moving. I do wanna see what’s up in Memphis.” Aunt Orange tells Cherry Jubilee, reminding the latter that she has to catch a plane probably in about the next hour or two. “My husband is in Memphis and it will take me about six hours to get there. Until we meet again…”
Aunt Orange waves goodbye at Cherry Jubilee, who also waves goodbye back at her, heading her way for a trip to Memphis to see her husband again.
Wishing that she has another chance to see Aunt Orange sometime once more in the future, although in Equestria, Cherry Jubilee can tell that Aunt Orange has a very big heart as much as her niece does.
