Description

Ah, the wonders of childhood indeed. I used to watch this show when I was little and I still watch it today just to look back to my childhood.
And of course, I’m talking about “Bear in the Big Blue House”.
Ever since this show came along back in the day (well, The ‘other’ corporations bought The Jim Henson Company… I’M LOOKING AT YOU, DISNEY lol.), It only educates kids on how to do (I.E.: How to Work, How Bedtime works, How to make friends, how to dance, ect.) and it also attracts adults of liking the show… well, almost adults. I grew up with this show, so it doesn’t matter.
Now, here’s my top 3 favorite episodes I love growing up with this show:

  1. The Big Sleep

Oh, man… this… this episode is beautiful.
The episode starts off with Bear looking at the stars before he takes out the trash (Followed by his usual Sniff Sense… turns out he noticed the viewers are wearing pajamas). When he’s taking out the trash, Ojo camed in and tells Bear that he promised that Ojo and his friends have a sleepover tonight in the living room. Turns out, Bear forgot as Ojo lead her friends inside the house to begin their sleepover. After Bear told us to grab our sleeping bags and head to the living room, Bear told the others ‘Nighty-night.’… well, someone’s gonna ask him… but they did. Somehow they wanted a snack.
After that’s been done (after teaching us about Bedtime and a song), They went off to go brush their teeth (cause we all know Brushing your Teeth is very important)… in song.
After that’s been done, Bear tells the others good night, but when Bear went to tell Pipp and Pop good night, the two otters went under the sleeping bag and pretend they’re gone… but they wanted a very special bedtime story before they went to sleep. turns out Ojo isn’t tired… but then went to sleep anyway… now it’s time for Bear to get back to his book.
Hours has passed like seconds, and somehow Ojo has woken up from a nightmare. Bear went to calm her down and tell her that a Bad Dream is not real, and there’s no such things as monsters. And both Ojo and Bear sang one of my most favorite (and heartwarming) song in this episode, ‘Go to bed, Sleepyhead’… after the song was sang, Ojo went back to sleep.
(Now, I know it’s too soon, but we see how Princess Luna comforts ponies (Even the CMC once) when they had a nightmare, somehow she told us to face our fears… and they must be faced, or the nightmares will continue. That same scene with Ojo and Bear is a good example of comfort when we have a bad dream ourselves… but my brother on the other hoof, lived the nightmare and didn’t woke up.)
Now, after Bear sees Shadow and tells him her story, he went to check the others… somehow they’re still sound asleep. Finally, he went to find Luna sleeping in the otter pond… somehow she’s taking a nap… even a moon gets a few winks now and again.
after a goodbye song, Bear went back inside and was about to go asleep… well after he said an I Quote: “This is one bear saying sweet dreams, whenever your asleep. I’ll see you the next time you wake up. Bye!”
And thus ends Number 1 of my favorite episode.

  1. And to all a good night

Oh, this episode! It was awesome!
The episode starts with Bear meeting Ray before he sets. Then, he took us to the otter pond and tell us about the Harvest Moon Festival and taught us about night. After Luna appears, the song begins. Well, after the song (followed by telling us what do we think about night), Luna told Bear about the surprise and left without spoiling it. That’s where we’re followed by the sounds of Tutter’s Alarm Clock going off… turns out it came from the kitchen. After Tutter went to sleep, we went with Bear to the attic to go find his Paper Lanterns (well, simular to Princess Luna’s Lavender-Scented Flowers from “A Royal Problem”, it’s another good example to add to Luna’s Party… maybe… Sniff… maybe.), but we see Treelo seeing the stars. After Bear taught Treelo about the constellations (one meaning the Big Dipper (The origins of Dipper’s Birthmark) And Ersa Major), Ojo, Pipp and Pop appears and found Bear’s Paper Lanterns… and then left to meet him at the party.
Just as soon as that happened, Bear went to go check on Tutter again, turns out he’s sleeping peacefully. That’s where Shadow (playing with one of her tricks) appears. After she told Bear her story, the two sing a gentle tune to wake Tutter up before she disappeared. After Tutter was fully awake, they all went to the party with the others… as soon they arrived, they were wondering where’s Luna. But then, Luna appears… with a surprise… by bringing Bear’s friend, Ersa along to meet him. And the party begins.
An hour has passed, the others are getting tired. That’s were everyone sings Luna a Goodbye Song before she shines her light to the rest of the world… and I mean, the FULL CAST.
After Tutter went to sleep, Bear and Ersa told us good night and left to see the stars during the credits.
thus ends number 2 of my favorite episodes.

And 3. Friends for Life

This episode… actually gave me heartwarmth… and made me realized I made friends over the years (even korijohnson is still my friend to this day).
This episode starts off with Bear’s usual Sniff Sense, somehow he noticed that we brushed our teeth cause we smell minty and fresh… but that’s where Pipp and Pop appeared… and having a disagreement… which is kinda funny. After the two asked Bear ‘What should we do?’, they let the Coin decide… somehow they pick heads, and the two went to the attic.
After Bear told us about having friends (along with a song number), We went to Treelo in the kitchen and was about ready to play ‘Snowbear and Rock Boy’ with Ojo. But when Ojo got in (holding a basket), she got back outside… seems like she’s busy.
After Treelo sadly left, Bear went to help Treelo feel better… however, Shadow appears. After her story with Old Mother Hubbard and her Dog, Bear left to continue looking for Treelo… but when he heard Tutter arguing with Treelo, he went to the kitchen.
After the argument, Ojo came back to get the carrots and left… with Bear wondering to himself, ‘Hmm… Carrots.’ Then, Pipp and Pop came back (with the ‘No, you’ fest) from the attic to go play Tag at the Otter Pond… and they did, and everyone went with them… even Bear.
As they arrived, they saw Ojo talking to Rabbit, her new friend. After that, Bear and the others met up with Ojo, and she talked to them about Rabbit… that’s where the Song ‘When you Make Yourself a Friend’ begins. After the song ended, they played Tag… and Bear is it.
Hours went by and it was night, that’s where we went with Bear to go visit Luna at the attic. After the talk and a Goodbye Song, we ended the episode with bear saying, ‘By the way, this Friendly bear will be right here, ready to play… whenever you are. Come back soon!’
Thus, ends number 3 of my favorite episodes.

Outro:

Since I like this show while growing up, I give it 10/10 for best show of my childhood. Besides, Looking back to this gave me nostalgia.
Anyways, have a good day… sorry it took so long lol.
