How can it be witchcraft if there is no magic? I’d say voodoo
Your logic means you should start calling Apple Bloom a different name because it’s too similar to Applejack.
I don’t care what the “canon” says, I’m not calling Bon-Bon “Sweetie Drops”, ever, and no amount of MLPWikifags waving around officialness in my face will make me change tack.
My reasoning is that “Sweetie Drops” sounds way too similar to Sweetie Belle, to the point that one could mix the names up if one isn’t careful. “Bon-Bon” is much more distinct, plus it’s a nice shout-out to an actual Little Pony from G1 who had a similar cutie mark.
An outright rejection is unusual for me, as I’m usually fine with official names (never liked “Colgate”, much prefer “Minuette”).
Cloudchaser Stormwalker is best Jedi!
Not quite. That pony that was called “Cloudchaser” in the show is called “Stormwalker” in the studio files. But Stormwalker was cut from the episode and Cloudchaser needed a design they gave her Stormwalker’s.
Twins?
Twins.
There are scenes where two Bon Bons are visible at the same time in the same crowd. That means show canon, which trumps all, does support that Bon Bon and Sweetie Drops can be two different ponies.
“Vinyl Scratch” and “Dr. Whooves” were officially adopted as well.
Vinyl Scratch was used at Hasbro’s booth at the Las Vegas Licensing Expo 2012.
Dr. Whooves was used at Funko’s licensed figurine, and The Hub’s Twitter.
At most I will compromise and say her nickname is Bon Bon Sweetie “Bon Bon” Drops.
Um, a lot of the reason for names existing in the first place is so you can refer to specific characters/people by their names. If you want to call Colgate “Ham Sandwich Bluebird,” sure, you can if you want, but nobody’s going to understand you.
I have to agree with all of that, but only to an extent.
When people start crying and whining about how their headcanons are ruined, the line of stupidity had been crossed.
Isn’t it better to create a way to reconcile headcanon with canon, rather than just go “Oh no! They’re ruining everything!”?
Being creative is a nice thing, isn’t it?
In the end, you can’t deny denial. It’s undeniable. And if you try, you just end up with denialception. ^_ ^
…Either that, or you’re directed to a river in Africa. I dunno. >_>
More like “it suits my headcanon so it’s ok” than positivity, but oh well…
So much denial in this thread.
That’s the way I like it. Positivity.
@Rainbow Dude
Both of those interpretations are perfectly acceptable. And hey, at least the cards confirm that “Bon Bon” is Lyra’s roommate. ^_ ^
Or Bon Bon is Sweetie Drops’ nickname.
Bon Bon and Sweetie Drops are two different ponies that happen to look nearly identical.
The Gameloft game calls her Bon Bon, then the toys call her Sweetie Drops, then the cards call her Bon Bon, and now this book calls her Sweetie Drops!
Consistency is all I ask for. >_<
Alright then, care to give me some more creative words to use next time? Use your imagination. :>
