Its a shame. The guy got me (and a good number of other people) into the fandom, and now he’s throwing a hissy fit and ragequitting it.
Pretty much. Although from what I keep seeing, they’re people who think “OH MLP ISN’T THE SAME ANYMORE!!”. Which only makes me roll my eyes because they don’t accept change coughtwilacorncough
And that’s just sad.
Pretty Much. The anti-bronies are basically all his fans he had left
Well maybe those people hate mlp and want chad to continue bitching about it
Yeah, Freedom of Speech isn’t Freedom from Consequences.
Yes. There are people who defend Chad’s right to be an asshole. I don’t even understand WHY.
Seriously?
The fact that he KNOWS people are tired of his bitch rants and that he STILL CONTINUES THEM makes it more insulting. But what is more annoying, is that people DEFEND his actions. I literally got into an argument with a guy who I reblogged Chad’s ‘response’ to someone telling to stop complaining about MLP, and how Chad has a ‘right to say what he wants’ and that ‘it’s the people that push him to say those things’. Oh and that ‘he is right, that the show has fallen from grace’.
PFFFFFFFFFFFFT HAHAHAHA
I actually found the comments of said guy recently.
He at least tried to make a half-assed apology (which was basically, “I’m sorry, but I still want the comic you work for to dye”) and brown-nose a bit once he found-out she was an artist for the comic.
I don’t know why, but I just love seeing haters making themselves look silly. Don’t know if anyone else would find it amusing.
Also, ironically he says he likes the British/Fleetway “Sonic the Comic” series, (after complaining that Archie isn’t “enough like the Sega games”) which I felt was even farther from Sega’s source material then Archie was.
(Especially, their “Jekyll & Hyde” version of Super Sonic, with the crazy eyes.)

Wow! Epic fail on “Brian’s” part!
I’m pretty sure Ian Flynn’s job is safe, even if it got 1,000 signitures. Most people actually like how he writes the Megaman, and Sonic comics, and he seems to have alot of knowledge of both series. (More then past writers of past Sonic and/or Megaman comics/cartoons have had.)
2 years ago, somebody on DA who always likes complaining about the Sonic comic tried to make a petition to have Archie relinquish their license over the Sonic series, and give it to another comic company.
The ironic thing is, they don’t understand how the comic industry works. Most of the writers, and artists for the Sonic comic don’t work exclusively for Archie, and are freelance, (this includes Ian) so even if that happens, chances are it’d still be the same people working on it.
Hilariously, one of the people promoting the petition (by going around annoyingly spamming it on people’s DeviantArt front pages) made the embarrassing mistake of posting it on Evan Stanley’s DA page comments. (An artist for the Sonic comic.)
Even after she told him she works on the comic, and likes it how it is, he even tried to convince her to sign the petition anyways, like stating she might get more money from another comic company. (And then somebody pointed out to him freelance artists get payed the same no matter what comic company they work for.)
Also, I’m actually glad Archie does the Sonic & Megaman comics, because Archie & IDW are 2 of the very few comic companies that have allowed their licensed comics to continue for more then a year. Most other comic companies don’t care for their licensed series as much as their original ones.
In fact, Valiant Comics cancelled the Super Mario & entire “Nintendo Comics System” (from the early ‘90s) line after only a year making them, for only the reason that they wanted to focus on their original properties more, and didn’t really care for their licensed comics, and cancelled every licensed series they had for no reason.
Meanwhile, Archie (and Sega) has allowed Sonic to be around comics for 20 years now, which in itself is a miracle.
His real name is Brian so I think it is him.
You know i’m think that one signature was by him so it really got no signatures
I liked the MST3K version of that movie.
?
I think his ego is so big it eclipses Robot Gorillaman’s
Have you SEEN his recent reaction to Season 4?
I know. I was talking about how Professor Megaman was praising Dobson.
Me neither. And I don’t think Link’s appearance should matter when it comes to how good a Zelda game is.
I know, and yet Andrew Dobson and Professor Megaman love that Link.
Well, we don’t know if Dobson really does hate blondes and to be honest I think that’s none of our business.
Which still doesn’t stop retro-obsessed purists from living in the past.
I hope I don’t become like that when I get older.
Yeah, somebody else already pointed out Preston/Dobson’s hatred of blonde Link below…
I like nostalgic game stuff, and old character designs, but I’m not that obsessed with them. Don’t see why “dark-haired” Link looks more like an adventurerer then “blonde” Link. Also, Link was kinda a dork in the old cartoon…
Yeesh, sounds like “Dobson/Tom Preston” really hates blondes. Especially, if he’s so obsessed to draw Link dark-haired, even on his pics/comics representing newer games. He can’t get with the times.
Blonde Link & Samus are unfortunately for him here to stay, much like blue-overalls Mario, and green-eyed Sonic.
People like Preston/Dobson, Professor Megaman, Nicochi, and Richard Kuta are basically like cranky old men always complaining about how things aren’t the same as they were young.
YES. HE DOES. I’ve even seen his comments on Andrew Dobson’s old Zelda pics and he was talking about how Link’s appearance back in the NES games made him look more like an adventurer compared to the different incarnations of Link nowadays. I can’t remember everything he said but I remember him comparing Ocarina of Time Link with a one-shot character from the Zelda cartoon. (If anyone has the old comments archived with Andrew Dobson’s deleted pics, I would appreciate it because there’s stupidity on there that needs to be seen to be believed.)
I’m fine with the concepts of his Sonic parody comics, but its his “old-school is elite” attitude I have a problem with.
Nothing is wrong with liking something out of nostalgia but it can’t protect everything.
Same here. But retrobrats really make it hard for me to recommend these games to newer gamers.
Oh my god, really?! The internet really has done a 1080*.
Super Mario Sunshine was awesome.
Sounds like Byter, the infamous MLP reviewer who is like Chad, just minus the association with a website.
Now that’s really messed-up logic when Link having pink hair is more “acceptable” then him being blonde…
Y’know, somebody should edit Link’s hair blonde in that comic, just to tease him. :P
Dobby doesn’t care, to him it’s “LINK SHOULD HAVE ALWAYS KEPT THE BROWN HAIR! …except for LttP Link, he can have pink because that’s what the SNES made it look like.”
As he said in this Skyward Sword pic, ‘I don’t care, Link will forever be brown haired to me.’
@Beau Skunky
Do these people not know that every single link is a completely different person not counting direct sequels?
Dear God. You had to remind me of that.
